No post last night but not to worry, super sized post today. Last night everyone was just too tired to do anything, including write on the blog. That being said, yesterday was a big day.
Lily went to the doctor for her two week visit. The doctor's office said that everything was looking good. Lily is now 7 lbs. 5 ounces. (Up 5 ounces from birth and a Coke can (11 ounces) from her visit two weeks ago. She is also now 20 inches long (1.5 inches longer than birth). She is still pretty little. The only thing the doctor's office wanted to monitor was the fact that her umbilical cord has still not fallen off. They gave her a treatment and if does not fall off by next week she goes back again for a second treatment. It will be nice when it pops off so we can give her a real bath. As a nice bonus, the doctor's office gave us free formula. I love free stuff.
Lily also had her first trip to Target where she bought some more hangers for all her clothes and some thank you notes to send to all the folks who bought such nice gifts. Then home for a not so quiet evening. It seems as though she has finally found her appetite as she has blown through the two ounce mark and is now eating more than three ounces per feeding. Needless to say, she is not shy about demanding more food and she manages to hit that note that sends Gypsy running for another room.
Today we went to the Mall and then for another trip to Babies R Us since Lily needed more diapers and few more thermal blankets. We bought a lot of the regular size diapers but she is still pretty little so she will probably be wearing the newborn swaddling diapers for a little while.
We also tried Lily out in her swing today. Not such a fan yet but we will try again in a few weeks. I am sure that she will grow into it.
Anyway, Cousin Emilie is here and has been a great help. She and Lily seem to get along pretty well.
At the doctor's office.
On her way to Target for some shopping.
Quality time with Grandpa Tom.
Just a relaxing Saturday afternoon.
"Stop talking about me, Mom."
Successfully sitting in her swing.
Just prior to losing it and deciding that swinging just isn't for her.
