First let's welcome Lily and Jack's new cousin to the planet - Garrett Thomas was born on Thursday morning and mother (Aunt Tracy) and baby are doing well. We are all looking forward to meeting Garrett in a couple of weeks as he winds his way east for the holidays.
A normal week around here as we get ready for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lily had a good week at school and continues to work on piano and tennis. Jack is doing great and has been asking how to spell every word he can think of. Lily is working on second grade math and is reading chapter books like a fiend.
On Saturday we spent the morning in downtown Silver Spring watching the annual Thanksgiving parade - a bunch of marching bands, politicians throwing out candy and random community groups walking along the parade route. We were supposed to see friends Dave, Dorinda, Ben and Caroline from Atlanta that evening but plans fell through at the last minute. Instead we saw them tonight - the kids had a great time playing with all their toys and it was nice to catch up with old friends.
