Friday night, we went to Grandma Phyllis' and Grandpa Maurice's house for a bbq for a pre-party celebration with Great Aunt Ruby, Great Uncle Simon, Great Aunt Eve, Great Uncle Jerry, and cousins Lisa, Graeme, and Derek. Lily wants to thank everyone for all of her great presents!!
On Saturday, Lily helped Mom and Dad pack for the big move, and then that evening we headed down to D.C. for the birthday celebration at a very fancy French restaurant. Lily had lots of fun and was an absolute trooper as the evening lasted until 11pm - she only started to fade in the last 15 minutes. Fortunately, we were in a private room so Lily could easily visit with the other guests, hand out stickers, and play with her blocks - we are finding it harder and harder these days to keep her in her seat, and especially so with a 3-4 hour dinner but fortunately, she was well behaved.
On Sunday, we went to the Kennedy Center for a post-birthday party brunch and Lily was amazed at the amount of food in the buffet line. She also enjoyed checking out the views of D.C. and the Potomac. Sunday afternoon was spent relaxing, packing, and taking Gypsy on a walk.
Today Mom and Lily took a last trip to the neighborhood pool - we hope to join another pool in the new neighborhood. Lily is also enjoying her last week of water play at school, and spending time with her friends. Her last day of school will be Friday and she will start her new school on July 10. The big move is on Friday and then we head to the lake on Monday. We likely won't get in a post next week, so Lily sends out Happy July 4th wishes to everyone, and wants to send out birthday kisses to Gypsy!!
See you in two weeks, broadcasting from the new house!!
