Wet, Wet, Wet

Summer rolls on. Another week of swim lessons, pool time, play time with friends and an all around good time.

On the pool front, Lily's making great progress in her swimming. She is in her last week of swim lessons but her swimming has improved by leaps and bounds. See video below. Jack loves the pool as well and enjoys walking around the shallow end and the pool deck. We have certainly gotten the most out of this year's membership dues.

Other than the pool, it was a pretty quiet week. Marcy and the kids spent Friday afternoon at the pool and we all ate dinner there. Saturday we ran some errands and had friends Kristen, Chris and Wyatt over for dinner. Lily and Jack had a good time playing with Wyatt.

Sunday, it was more pool time. First at a friends house - Tara and Kate - and then at our pool with Jonah and Naomi. Sunday night was Chinese food - a Lily favorite and now we are back to the regular grind.

This week we have special birthday shout outs to Cousin Emilie and Grandma Phyllis. On to the pictures and videos ...

So Much to Say

Another week in the books...

Beatrice was off last week so Grandma Gail spent some quality time with both Jack and Lily. On Tuesday, Grandma Gail came over with cousin Casey, took Lily to her swim lessons, and then hung out with the pool with the kids. Later, the kids continued play at our house, on the playground, and in the backyard - and then Mom got home in time to make some dinner - we suspect Grandma Gail slept well that night. But only a short while to relax, because Grandma Gail was at it again with Lily and Jack on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Lily and Jack spent some more time at the pool, and on Thursday the kids went to the zoo. Thanks Grandma Gail for babysitting! On Friday, Dad stayed home and spent some quality time with Jack running errands and lunching with a friend.

The weekend was spent pretty close to home, with a visit by Hayley and Cole on Saturday, which included the creation of Camp Dumbo in the basement, a game of hide and seek/tag in the backyard, time on the playground, and water play with squirt guns and water bottles.

Sunday, we hit the pool in the afternoon - Lily has made leaps and bounds literally with regard to her swimming! As of Memorial Day weekend, she was barely putting her face under water, and is now swimming under water, kicking her legs, trying out some strokes, and on Sunday jumped off the side for the first time without being caught or holding hands. She graduated to the next level in swim lessons which began this morning, so we expect her to be swimming laps by the end of the session!

Enjoy the pics!

Endless Summer Nights

Another week of summer and pool and quality time with grandparents. We started off the week with a visit from Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice who were headed off for vacation to the west coast. We continued the visits with Tracy, Casey and Grandma Gail visiting on Thursday. The weekend was finished off with two nights for the kids at Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house as the grownups had weekend commitments.

In between, there was lots of pool time and swimming. Lily continues with her fish lessons and she is doing fantastic - as evidenced by the video below.

That is all for this week. On to the main attraction ...

Wade in the Water II

With no posting for two weeks our loyal readers must be salivating for content :)

Let's see what happened - in week one Lily finished an entire week of swimming lessons and is becoming quite the fish. She is getting more and more comfortable around the water and is really paying attention to her lessons and listening to her teachers. She loves going to the pool and seeing all of her friends. Jack has a good time at the pool as well. He swims a bit but he really just likes to walk around the pool deck and smile at everyone or say hello until they acknowledge him. Future politician or game show host, I say.

On Friday (the one before the 3rd of July), Jack had his 18 month appointment. All was normal and he has gained a bit of weight since the last visit. He is now 32 inches long and weighs in at 24 lbs. Slightly below the 50th percentile in both categories.

After Friday's trip to the doctor, Marcy, LIly and Jack set out for a nine days at the Lake. They had a great time visiting with Grandparents, cousins Allie, Alex, Davis and Casey, Aunts Kelly and Tracy and Uncle Stan. A good time was had by all and by the time I got down to the lake, everyone was tanned, relaxed and had eaten all of Gail's delicious chocolate chip cookies!

The weekend finished off with a bang - lots of fireworks and some more great weather. Lily's swimming continued to improve over the weekend and when she had swim lessons agin this morning she did fantastic.

Anyway, that is all for now. On to the pics ...
