Lily and Jack had a short week at school the week before Christmas as they both played hooky for a few days in order to spend some time with cousins Casey and Garret who were in town for the holidays. They had their picture taken, visited the Natural History Museum, the Capitol building and the train display at the National Arboretum. We also finished our celebration of Hanukkah with fun presents from Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis and Aunt Donna and Uncle Stephen.
As usual, we all spent Christmas Eve at Grandpa Tom and Grandma Gail's house. The kids had quality time with Aunty Kelly, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan and Casey and Garrett. On Sunday morning, the little ones woke up early to see what Santa had brought them. Lily and Jack did very well - a guitar and Millenium Falcon for Jack and Lily got an enormous Barbie dream house! There were tons of other gifts from the rest of the family and there are plenty of toys to play with for months to come! In addition, there were visits from Great Uncle Carlton, Aunt Jenny, cousin Alex and Great Uncle Chris, Great Aunt Imelda and cousin Sara (who Lily had not seen for a while but they were reacquainted quite quickly.) It was an excellent holiday and everyone had a really nice time together.
After Christmas celebrations wound down, we headed home to pack for our week long trip down to Florida. We got to Florida on Monday and spent a week visiting family and relaxing. The entire week featured absolutely glorious weather - the kind that keeps you coming back to Florida. We spent lots of time with Aunt Donna, Uncle Stephen, cousins Emilie and Stephanie and, of course, Bubbie. We also made a trip a little further south to see Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis and to visit with Uncle Jerry, Aunt Eve and cousin Graeme who were in town.
Lily and Jack spent a lot of time at the pool while on Florida. Lily also took four mornings of golf lessons and really liked it. Jack can't wait to do it next year. The kids also got to see their second hockey game - a New Year's matchup between the Canadiens and Panthers. We broke our allegiance to the Capitals for one night an pulled for the Canadiens but to no avail as they lost 3-2. Everyone had a great time. We went home after the game and the kids were allowed to stay up to ring in the new year - I think they thought it was a bit anti-climactic!
On to the pictures - over 30 of them! We got a new camera and we are still trying to figure out the video so no video this week.
Lastly, thanks to all our family for a great ten days. We all loved seeing you and spending time with you over the holidays. We are so lucky to have such a large group of people that care about us and vice versa. Best wishes to everyone for a great 2012 - much happiness and health and success for the year to come.

Even though I just saw you guys I LOVED all the pics. I feel like I was at xmas with the Wrights. That barbie house is big enough for Lily to live in, and I am sure that guitar will provide Jack (and the rest of the fam) with hours of entertainment.
We all had such a fun week. The kids are so wonderful, intelligent, cute, caring, funny and entertaining. Watching them grow is truly a delight.
Love to all.
All I can say is WOW!! What a week! Lots of fun and laughs!! We are truly blessed!
