Cherry Area

Happy April, we were greeted today by temps in the 80's, so nice, although the kids will be disappointed when they are back in long sleeves tomorrow.

The kids had a good week at school. Thursday Lily had off so she had a haircut (only a trim since she is growing her hair long), and we picked up Jack from school after lunch and went to the library where they each got there own library card and checked out a few books.

We had a nice weekend, busy as usual. On Saturday, we went into D.C. and the kids saw the Jefferson Memorial and the cherry blossoms. Soccer was cancelled due to rain, but it cleared up in the afternoon and we had friends Fisher, Stuart, Bea, and Charlotte and their respective parents over for a pasta dinner in preparation for the Moms to run the Cherry Blossom 10 miler - the kids had fun running from all over the backyard and playing in the basement.

On Sunday, Grandma Gail came over for a visit and took the kids to McDonalds which had a very large playground - this one is on military grounds so Grandma was able to get them in with her connections! The kids had tons of fun, although Jack described the playground as "scary" and once they got home Grandma brought out some snowballs that she had made and froze from our last (final) snowfall a few weeks ago - the kids enjoyed throwing the snowballs and Daisy enjoyed eating the snowballs.

Later Sunday, we headed over to Wyatt and Owen's house for some playtime and dinner at Italian Market in our old neighborhood.

Today Lily had her swim lesson and even took a quick dip in the outdoor pool since it is open year round. Then we went on a walk around the neighborhood and ran into lots of friends enjoying the summer-like weather, the kids went to bed easily tonight!

Have a good week!
