Shadows and Tall Trees

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble...Turkey Day was a success and Hanukah and Christmas are right around the corner...

Before getting to Thanksgiving, we'll give you a brief update re Baby Boy K. We had an ultrasound on Wednesday and everything looks good and he is actually head down (unlike his sister) and things are still on schedule for a week from Friday.

On Wednesday, cousins Emilie and Stephanie came into town for a Thanksgiving visit, and Lily enjoyed waking them up Thursday morning at 7am to get the day started! Both Emilie and Stephanie were very helpful with preparing the feast for a total of 15 guests, and Lily enjoyed showing them her toys, swingset and playhouse. Our Thanksgiving guests included Great Grandma Katie (a.k.a. YG), Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, Grandpa Maurice, Grandma Phyllis, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Carlton, and cousins Alex, Valerie and Bill - overall everyone had a great time although we may have to make some minor adjustments to the menu and seating arrangements next year to accomodate everyone in the new house! Post-turkey, Mom, Dad and Lily were showered with suprirse gifts in anticipation of Baby Boy K - thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts, we are sure Baby Boy K is glad to finally have some toys and books of his own.

On Friday, Lily enjoyed spending some more time with Emilie and Stephanie before they headed out of town. Lily, Mom and Dad then headed over to visit with Wyatt and his parents Kristen and Chris - Wyatt is another one of Lily's blogger friends, you can catch him at www.wyattsroundup.blogspot.com On Sunday, we headed over to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house to decorate the Christmas tree with Aunt Tracy and Uncle Stan - Lily really enjoyed looking at and hanging all of the tree decorations. She is getting very excited for Hanukah, the arrival of her baby brother, and Christmas - we have a lot coming up in the next few weeks and we'll be sure to keep you in the loop!

Here we go again

Earlier in the week, Lily and her classmates put on a fabulous Thanksgiving show where they sang lots of songs - next show we will try to remember the camera. On Friday, Lily had a blast at gymnastics, and then Mom and Lily hung out at home so Mom could do some baby/turkey day prep and Lily could play with all of her toys.

On Saturday, Mom, Dad, and Lily headed over to Naomi's house to interview some potential nannies for her baby brother - Lily had fun playing with Naomi and all of Naomi's toys. After interviewing three nannies, we all loved nanny #3, and fortunately she liked us too because she has agreed to care for Jonah and Lily's baby brother (who will remain nameless for now :)). He will begin hanging out with Jonah in late March and will be cared for by Joan, I'm sure there will more details to come on that front, but we are just relieved that child care is in place! On Saturday night, we enjoyed a 3 hour dinner at Clyde's with friends Paul, Cindy, Alexandra (age 6), Matthew (age 4), and Juliet (3 months) - fortunately Alex and Matt entertained Lily with books, coloring and stickers, so Mom and Dad were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner!

On Sunday, we hung around the house and Lily must have played with every single toys she owns in the basement and read multiple books, and we ended the day with a visit from Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice.

Sorry for the limited pics, we will try to do a little better this week with our Turkey Day visitors!

Happy Thanksgiving!! See you next week!

Lifetime Piling Up

The highlight of Lily's week was most definitely pajama day on Thursday. Lily's teacher, Ms. Linda, said that earlier in the week Lily could not stop talking about how excited she was for PJ day! Thursday morning finally came around and she speedily changed into her going to school pjs - Dad would love it if it was PJ day everyday! She was also supposed to bring one of her books from home, and after going through many different selections over the course of many days, she finally decided Thursday morning to bring 'Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse.'

Not only did Lily go to school in her PJs but she also visited the pediatrician in her PJs for her 3 year check-up. Some of you may wonder why Lily was going to her 3 year check-up two months after her 3rd birthday - well due to our move, responsible Mom scheduled her appt with a new pediatrician many months in advance, however, when it came to the actual date in September, irresponsible Mom forgot to take Lily to her appt, and ended up having to make a new appt)...anyways, compared with Lily's 2 year appt (feel free to review the September 2006 entry), this appt was a rousing success! Lily stood on the scale for her height and weight, and even took an eye and hearing test, and passed with flying colors. She weighed 34 pounds and was 37 1/4 inches tall - around 50th percentile for both. The only upsetting part was the flu shot but she quickly recovered to get a sticker and a lollipop.

On Friday, Lily's friend Brooke and new brother Anderson came over for a visit, and Lily and Brooke had tons of fun playing with lots of toys and bouncing all over the ball pit and bed - Anderson observed from afar and is looking forward to enjoying his own fun with Lily's baby brother in the coming months!

On Sunday, Lily and Mom headed over to GG & GT's to celebrate Great Yellow Grandma's 87th birthday - Happy Birthday YG!

Enjoy the pics!

Bring on the Night

Sorry for the late post, things have been a little busy around here. Happy Belated Halloween to everyone!! Lily started off Halloween morning dressing up as a princess and participating in a school parade and a sing-a-long of Halloween songs - Lily has been singing all of the songs at home, although she became a little shy on stage when it came to singing in front of all of the parents. After school, it was time to dress up again for trick-or-treating. Lily loved going from house to house and seeing what they gave her as a treat - her favorite treat was definitely the lollipops and the bag of cheetos - Lily does not like chocolate so Mom and Dad have been gorging since then.

On Friday, Lily went to her last gymnastics class for this session, and was awarded a medal. No worries, the new session starts this Friday, hopefully we can get some pics in the next few weeks. After gymnastics, Mom and Lily went to lunch with Grandma Gail and Grandma's friend Ms. Linda. We headed back to G & G's house so Lily could have a sleepover while Mom went to a party and Dad went to a hockey game. Lily had a great time spending the night and playing the next day, and Mom and Dad had a great time sleeping in!

In other news, Lily's brother is scheduled to be born on Friday, December 7 via c-section. We have yet to receive official confirmation, but it looks like (and feels like) the little guy might be in the proper position, opposed to his breech sister. So we have just over 4 weeks until the little guy makes an appearance!! Lily seems to be getting more and more excited about her baby brother and is constantly talking about him and what she is going to do with him - we hope she won't be too disappointed when he fails to jump right on the back of her glider.
