On Thursday of this past week, Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom picked her up from school a little early, and got in some play time including a tea party with some of her stuffed animals. On Friday, Lily went to school because Mom left to go out of town for a girls weekend with her college friends. Dad was left solely in charge, and essentially got nothing done around the house due to Lily jumping from one activity to the next, and a lack of a nap on both weekend days. Apparently, she slept like a champ and slept in a little late, though, which she always tends to do when Mom is away. The weekend consisted of Dad and Lily running errands and hanging around playing outside and in the basement - and included a visit to get some new jibbitz for her crocs (she picked them out herself - kermit the frog, snow white, towtruck from the movie Cars, and a fire hat (yes, all very random)), and a visit to our old neighborhood haunt Italian Market with friends Chris & Kristen. Mom returned home on Sunday, and Lily got in a little pool and swingset time as you will see in the pics below.
On Monday, Grandma Gail came over and picked up Lily early from school and they spent the day in the backyard - Grandma managed to beautify our backyard (i.e. debugged), cleaned the playhouse, and finally got the sandbox in order - thanks Grandma!! Now, Lily can easily go between her water/sand table, sandbox, playhouse, swimming pool, swingset, and get in a little bike riding in between - she is a busy girl. Mom and Dad took a tour of the hospital this evening to see what is in store for the baby brother coming in less than 4 months, while Grandma and Lily ate dinner out.
See you next week!
P.S. We aren't crazy parents who require our child to wear a helmet when sliding, climbing, or walking - in the midst of all of her activity she was also riding her bike and didn't want to take off her helmet. ;)

Preparing the pool.

Having fun.

Sliding with appropriate head protection.

Climbing up the playset.

Walking the balance beam ledge.

All those activities are safer with the helmet and I was sure that you did that just for me (hahaha...just joking for anyone who doesn't really know me!)...lots of fun in the backyard...wet and wild and dirty...
