I Have The Touch

A busy week and weekend to report on.

On the school front, LIly has adjusted pretty well and seems to be having a good time. She is making friends and is always talking about them when she comes home. She is also becoming quite the little artist and is bringing home a ton of art work. Very very busy to say the least.

We had a crazy busy weekend. Saturday we journeyed up to Philadelphia to see Stella, Lauren and Steven. A fun afternoon out at the Please Touch Museum. Then a long rainy drive home - Lil was a trooper. Lily had good time at the Museum and is looking forward to going back to play with Stella next time.

Sunday was Hayley's huge birthday bash at the Build A Bear Workshop. Lily made Ivan the dog, named for the real Ivan the dog. She had fun building and cleaning her bear. Followed up with Diego cupcakes.

We finished out the weekend with dinner with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice.

We are headed off for vacation but we should be back for next week's posting. Til then, happy labor day.

Short People

Lily spent the weekend catching up with a variety of friends. On Friday, she enjoyed a visit from Grace, Jack and Ella. On Friday afternoon, she got in a little backyard pool time, but then ended up in the bathtub as she decided to dump an entire cup of sand on her head - Lily has a limited tolerance for permanent dirtiness, not sure who she gets that from. ;) On Saturday, she visited with her friend Brendan and his baby brother Zach, and on Sunday morning she had a playdate with her friend Gavin, one of her friends from her old school, and siblings Garrett and Genna. She had a great time catching up with everyone!

The house is coming along, and the basement/playroom is partially painted and organized - we anticipate a reveal next week! Have a good week!

DIrty Pool

Lily continues to enjoy her school, and has lately been running to her teacher and barely has time to say goodbye to mom and dad before she is off and running. Her language has also exploded - we think due in part to having classmates that are older - but of course also to her brilliant, verbal parents. Regardless of whose influence, she starts talking the minute she wakes up and doesn't stop until she passes out at night. It seems she comes home everyday singing a new song, and it is fun trying to figure out which song she is singing - her latest is combining 'Take Me Out To The Ballgame' with "1-2 Buckle My Shoe' - she thinks it is hysterical.

On Thursday of this past week, Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom picked her up from school a little early, and got in some play time including a tea party with some of her stuffed animals. On Friday, Lily went to school because Mom left to go out of town for a girls weekend with her college friends. Dad was left solely in charge, and essentially got nothing done around the house due to Lily jumping from one activity to the next, and a lack of a nap on both weekend days. Apparently, she slept like a champ and slept in a little late, though, which she always tends to do when Mom is away. The weekend consisted of Dad and Lily running errands and hanging around playing outside and in the basement - and included a visit to get some new jibbitz for her crocs (she picked them out herself - kermit the frog, snow white, towtruck from the movie Cars, and a fire hat (yes, all very random)), and a visit to our old neighborhood haunt Italian Market with friends Chris & Kristen. Mom returned home on Sunday, and Lily got in a little pool and swingset time as you will see in the pics below.

On Monday, Grandma Gail came over and picked up Lily early from school and they spent the day in the backyard - Grandma managed to beautify our backyard (i.e. debugged), cleaned the playhouse, and finally got the sandbox in order - thanks Grandma!! Now, Lily can easily go between her water/sand table, sandbox, playhouse, swimming pool, swingset, and get in a little bike riding in between - she is a busy girl. Mom and Dad took a tour of the hospital this evening to see what is in store for the baby brother coming in less than 4 months, while Grandma and Lily ate dinner out.

See you next week!

P.S. We aren't crazy parents who require our child to wear a helmet when sliding, climbing, or walking - in the midst of all of her activity she was also riding her bike and didn't want to take off her helmet. ;)

The Boy in the Bubble

A busy week to report on but today's news is going to take priority over our typical recap. Bright and early this morning (okay, 8:30) we all went off to Marcy's doctor to see if Lily's dream of a baby brother was going to come true. And lo' and behold, Lil called it right from the beginning! The next addition to the family will be a little boy - arriving during the first week of December.

With that out of the way, on to the week in review. Lily had a good week at school and is now starting to talk about school all the time. She wanted to go Saturday morning when she woke up!

We have been busy working on the house and getting things into shape. Thanks to some handy man help we have new railings up on all the stairs. The boxes are finally receding and the clothes and toys are all getting put away. A little more painting and cleaning and we will be all set.

On Satruday we headed up to WIlmington so that LIly could have a play date with pal and Ian and so we could catch up with some school friends. Lily had a great time and she and Ian ran each other ragged.

Sunday was more work around the house and nice dinner with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice who were recently back from vacation.

On to the pictures ...
