I Want to Walk You Home

Lily had a great week at school. She brought home many art projects, and dressed up in a skirt and hat to do some southwestern dancing on Wednesday. Today, Dad dropped her off and two of her classmates came running up to her, calling her name, and they ran off to play.

On Friday, Lily enjoyed some time in her backyard pool, and playing with her water/sand table. Saturday, she got in lots of play time with all of her toys in the basement.

On Sunday, we met some new friends, including Naomi who turned 2 in April - we are looking into sharing a nanny with them for their son who will be born in October and our December baby. BTW, Lily should find out a week from today whether she is having a baby brother or sister, so we should have a big announcement in next week's post.

We are pretty low on pics this week, we will try to post some video in the next week or so, Lily continues to do and say some pretty funny things these days i.e. 'Mommy, I'm packing my stuff in my purse to take to college' (she appears to have gotten the idea from Steve from Blue's Clues who left for college on a bus). ;)

Lake of Fire

Happy to report that Lily had a very good week at school, and there was only minimal crying. At the beginning of the week, she was a little teary during drop off but by the end of the week she was happily going into school, and proudly reported (as did her friend Audrey) that she did not cry during nap time. Lily now can tell us the names of a few of her new classmates and her teacher, and is enjoying all her art projects - this week she made a jellyfish, seahorse, and an aquarium - we might need to get a separate storage facility for all of her artwork.

Mom and Dad also got the basement playroom pretty organized and Lily discovered a multitude of toys that had been packed away - it was essentially comparable to Christmas day without the expense.;) She still refers to home as her "new house" but seems to be adjusting pretty well to all of the changes.

This weekend, Lily and Mom went to Lake Anna to visit with her fellow blogger and friend Brooke, and Mom's college friends Kristen, Holly, Mark & Rick (Dad stayed home with Gypsy to do some painting). Lily enjoyed visiting a "different" lake and liked swimming in her life jacket with a noodle - initially she wanted Mom to hold her in the water, but soon enough was independently noodling around. She loved the lakeside sandbox, and enjoyed reading books and having tea with Brooke.

As you will see below, Lily returned home to a freshly painted room, courtesy of hard working Dad - she picked the color green and Dad hopes she does not change her mind for many years to come.

Enjoy the pics!

Red House

Lily's first day of school was on Tuesday. Unfortunately, she is still in the midst of adjusting to the new school, teacher, and classmates. She has cried each day we have dropped her off, and apparently also cries during naptime because as she tells us she wants Mommy and Daddy. We think that in a few more weeks, she will be better adjusted. Her new school is actually a little different than the old one. The total number of children is about 1/3 of her old school, and there are no infants, only age 2-5. She only has one teacher, Ms. Linda, and has 6 classmates. She is the youngest in the class, and we believe everyone else in the class is 3 but we haven't figured out the exact age difference. She had one day of water play which she seemed to enjoy and has already brought home several art projects which we will try to get a picture of in the coming weeks.

On Friday, Lily's double mattress (i.e. big girl bed) was delivered, however, they were unable to fit the boxspring, so she is still sleeping in the crib and just visiting her mattress during the day. ;) Lily also picked out some bedroom furniture this weekend which included a bed, dresser, bookshelf, and nightstand - well actually Lily played around with Grandpa Maurice, while Mom, Dad and Grandma Phyllis made the final selection. Once the furniture is delivered, Lily can officially move into her new bedroom, which will also hopefully be freshly painted by Dad this weekend. The rest of the weekend was spent doing lots of errands for the new house, and finally getting able to play with her water/sand table. We didn't take any pictures this week but we have plenty to fill you in with some from weeks past. Enjoy!

Movin Out (Anthony's Song)

Just a short update this week with no pictures. Sorry to let Lily's loyal readers down ... It has been a complete whirlwind here with the great moving adventure and a vacation tossed in the middle.

We move on the 29th and then proceeded to leave on vacation on the 2nd. Needless to say, we are still knee-deep in boxes. Despite a few snafus, we made it to the new house in one piece. Lily is still adjusting to the new digs and tomorrow is her first day at her new school. She is very excited and seems to have convinced herself that there are no naps at the new place. I am not sure how well that is going to go over. That being said, she misses all of her friends at her old school and especially Miss Heather. It was a bit emotional on the last day at her old school since they took such great care of her since she was an itty bitty baby. We move on with great memories and great affection for those who helped us out so much there.

Lil seems to like the new house and the fun playground out back. Her playroom will be a great place for her once we get all of her stuff unpacked! Overall she is doing fantastic at adjusting and is sleeping great. Her big girl bed arrives this week and we are going shopping for some furniture this weekend. Things are beginning to come together.

In the midst of moving we took a nice four day sojourn to the lake for water oriented fun with Marcy's family. Lil had quality time with Aunts Kelly and Tracy and Uncle Stan. She hung out with cousins Allie, Alex and Davis and had a great time riding the Sea-Doo with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom. She had a great time and is looking forward to a return visit.

That is all for now. Back with pics next week (extras of all the missing fun included).

Have a great week.
