Then she did ...

Very busy week here. In addition to all our normal weekly activities, we had many visitors over the holiday weekend. The Montreal/New York gang came for a visit and got to see Lily for the first time since the winter. A lot has happened since the last visit and a good time was had by all watching Lil's new tricks.

To finish off the nice long weekend we had a bar-b-que a Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis' house. Summer is officially here and I am sure we will have lots of fun activities and milestones in store.

This week Lil seemed to be getting the hang of crawling - well she is moving forward but not really with regular crawling. Through a combination of rolling, sitting up and shimmying on her stomach she manages to get around. Lily seems undettered by her lack of "normal" forward movement and has started to pull her self up to a standing position. Standing and walking will surely be around the corner - life will get a little less relaxing then.

That is all for now. Oops, almost forgot a top tooth is starting to come in and Lily started feeding herself finger foods this week. No more negative reactions to cheese and fruit puffs, she is downing them like there is no tomorrow.

Sitting in her pool. Lily is ready for summer.

Eating some cheese.

Feeding Gypsy some cheese.

Intently reading her book.

Lily showing off her strong legs to her Great Bubbie.

Lily impersonating the Statue of Liberty.

"Can you see my teeth?"

Gypsy relaxing after a rough day.

Being very serious.

Hanging with Grover.

Everyone watching Lil read a book.

Getting ready for a Memorial Day bar-b-que - riding along with her new Baby Lily talking frog.

Eating some food in her new booster seat.

Get Back

Things here are going very well. Not much has changed since last week but little things keep adding up to all the big changes that keep happening.

Lily is eating & sleeping well. Crawling is still stuck in reverse but she is working on moving forward. She is very proficient at sitting up -- so much so that we had to lower her crib over the weekend so she couldn't accidentally make herself fall out.

Lily still is resisting all food that is not out of the jar. That being said, we have successfully moved onto meat products in the jar. I know I had previously said that we would not do that but we are feeding her some pretty nasty combos that she seems to really like -- mixed chicken and apples for dinner ... yum.

We had a nice quiet weekend. Chores around the house and special visit from Toronto Cousins David and Debbie. They were in town for part of the weekend and came over Saturday afternoon to hang out. It was good to see them and a further reminder that a trip to Toronto is far overdue.

That is all for now. Until next weekend. Have a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Lily taunting Gypsy with her crab friend.

With all those toys, Lily only wants to play with Gypsy's bone.

Just sitting around.

Looking suspicious of something out of the frame.

Playing with Cousin David.

And Cousin Debbie.

Lily and Marcy trying to blow up the inflatable "cooling off" pool. That was about as inflated as the pool got ... a trip to Target for a pump is in order.

Reading a book.

Posing for the camera.

Look at those big teeth. (Click on the pic for a closer view of the teeth.) Posted by Hello

Lazy Days

Just a quiet weekend at home. We ran a bunch of errands and just relaxed. Lil got to go on another bike ride and on a couple of long walks. We also had dinner with our friends Dave and Dorinda and John and Michelle. At John and Michelle's house Lily got a chance to play with her friends Hayley and Cole. They have a blog too -- everyone is getting them.

On the teeth front, they (and now there are definitely two so it is a matter of "they") are coming in well. She seems to be going through a growth spurt because she is eating and napping a ton. Other than that, things are the same as usual.

That is all for this week. Lil sends special get well wishes to her Grandpa Maurice who had the first of his two eye surgeries this week. Since she loves playing with glasses she hopes that he will give her the old pair that he will no longer need so that she can play with them.

Lily playing with her friend Hayley and Hayley's big brother Cole.

Wearing a little food.

Dueling babies in high chairs.

Just waiting for some real food.

Another weekend bike ride. Let's just say Lil was not nearly as happy at the end of the ride.

Playing in the grass.

Standing on her own,

Break On Through (To The Other Side)

It is amazing what happens when you are not even paying attention. Lily has been drooling and teething for so long now that I think we forgot the end result is actually a tooth or two. As a result, when her nose started running on Thursday neither Marcy or I thought to check out what was going on in Lil's mouth. But there we were, on the Lake in the Grandpa Tom and Grandma Gail's pontoon boat and Aunt Tracy leaned in for a look and spotted some white in Lil's mouth. A front tooth had broken through and it looks like its neighbor is moving in as well. Time for some non-blended carrots!

It was a busy week of school, birthday's (Grandma Gail and Marcy's), trips to the Lake and first Mother's Days. We went down to the Lake on Friday and Lily slept the whole way down (about 3.5 hours) ... Grandma Gail was there to greet us with dinner and we had a nice quiet night. Lily played with coasters most of the time -- we give her toys but she loves other stuff. By the next day Grandpa Tom was there along with Aunt Tracy and Uncle Stan. The rest of the weekend was spent eating, boating, playing horseshoes, eating, celebrating birthdays, eating, finding teeth, eating and did I mention eating. Lily was a very good girl all weekend -- even on the drive back when we hit traffic and had to take a little detour. We stopped on the way home to pick up Gypsy at Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice's house. They were kind enough to baby-sit the four legged child and then we headed home.

Lil was back in school today and she says, in her special shriek, that she can't wait to get back to the Lake. Oh, also, not as exciting as a tooth from a child proofing perspective, but Lily has started to move. Fortunately for now she seems stuck in reverse which makes it harder for her to get where she is trying to go.

That's all until next week.

Snoozing before heading off to the Lake.

Ahh, how refreshing.

A little backwards crawling.

Getting a little sun.

Ready for a pontoon boat ride.

All set, let's go.

Lily starring as Elton John on a boat.

If you look really closely and out of focus you can see a tooth.

Hanging with Mom.

"That was fun, let's go again."

Tastes like pink.

Sitting outside on a lazy Sunday.

Wearing Dad's hat.

Lily is all ready for her next trip to the Lake. Posted by Hello
