Keep Fishin'

Lily seems to be fully recovered from her cold and is doing well. We had a good week of fruits, veggies, bottles, sleeping, day care, playing, napping and a little crying/fussing. No new major milestones ... walking appears to be at least a few days away.

It was a quiet week with no visitors and we all had a nice relaxing weekend. We saw our friends John and Michelle on Saturday night and Lil got a chance to play with their kids Cole and Hayley. Cole and Hayley have their own blog now, everyone's doing it.

I think that's about it. The pictures are in their usual spot. Until next week.

P.S. - A few people have commented that last week's entry title had a spelling error ... to put curious minds at ease, all the titles since our fourth entry have been song titles and that particular song, Apples + Oranjes, was spelled how the Smashing Pumpkins decided to spell it. I am a specialist at typos but that one was not mine.

One of Gypsy's favorite toys is the empty toilet paper roll. Apparently Lily likes them too.

Lily got a new toy this weekend that she loves. It is a Fisher Price Aquarium. She loves the one she plays with at day care so Lil and I took a trip to Toys R Us on Saturday to get her one for home also.

A closer inspection.

Satisfaction.

When we were putting away some of her baby clothes we had an extra tub sitting around so Lil hung out inside.

Just a funny look.

Playing with her friends. If you look closely you can see that she is wearing a sticker that was on the tub that said not to put a kid in the tub with the lid on. Surely a sign of too many lawyers out there.

Chowing down on sweet potatoes and peas.

See ya next week. Posted by Hello

Apples + Oranjes

It was a busy week with many fun activities. Lily has recovered from her cold but still has a little bit of congestion. She is sleeping and eating well so there is no cause for concern ... just a little nose gunk to clean up. She HATES having her nose wiped so we have decided to just let her walk around with runny nose stuff on her face. Ok, we do wipe it off but she is not happy about it.

Lil's diet is progressing and we have now moved on to stage two jars of food -- exciting blends of gross mixes like apple-banana, apples and pears, guava and sweet potatoes and apples and chicken and prunes and pears -- the last three being mixes we will not be trying anytime soon. Lily seems to like them but they are gross.

Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis came over for dinner on Friday fresh from their trip to Costa Rica. They had some cute gifts for Lily from their visit and we had a nice dinner. Lily had a chance to catch up and tell her Grandparents all about her last couple of weeks. She showed off all her new tricks like sitting up, talking in complete sentences and doing hand stands. Well only the first one but the second two were not for a lack of trying.

We got to spend some time with Marcy's family over the weekend as Aunt Kelly was in visiting from the land of Rice a Roni for the weekend. The Easter bunny visited early and Lily had quite a haul of cute clothes, stuffed animals and cute books.

That's all for now. More to come next week as baby-like antics are sure to continue.

Lastly, Lily's Great Grandpa, Poppa Syd, had some surgery last week on his ticker and we all want to wish him well and let him know that we are thinking of him.

Modeling a new hat and chewing on her pony.

Lily starring as Gilligan and very happy about it.

Chewing on her fingers.

More finger chewing.

Lying around with her pal Grover.

Playing with Easter Eggs with Mom, Grandma Gail and Aunt Kelly.

Getting up close with the egg dye. She was very grabby but Mom made sure that all disasters were averted.

Testing out the new swing at Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house.

...

Getting a push from Mom.

Checking out her Easter basket loot.

The Easter basket had a cute little swimsuit ...

and a bathing cap...

so excited ...

and a wet suit for the lake.

I'm Sick Y'all

So a busy week, ending with Lily suffering from her first cold. The cold presented Lily's first major life conflict as she had to choose between her first love, her pacifier, and breathing. As it played out it was apparently a more difficult decision that you might imagine. Lily went to the doctor on Friday for her booster shots, where all was well (55% height - 26 inches, 55% weight - a lady never tells) and then she went back on Monday to have her cold checked out. She is getting better, just a little Tylenol and some rest and she will be back to normal. Grandma Gail bailed us out today and came to babysit since we did not want to send Lily to school while under the weather. Thanks.

Lily seems to have mastered sitting up and she is reaching for everything. She is also starting to giggle - real laughter, not just smiling with noise. It is very cute. Now if we could only teach her to blow her nose.

Back to school tomorrow. I am sure that her friends miss her ... Take care everyone, until next week.

Coming attraction ... Lil's Aunt Kelly is stopping in town for the weekend so we may have a Kelly siting on the blog next week.

The weekly drool picture.

Lily working on some big time playing around. I think that she was chewing on that slipper also. Real toys be damned, napkins and fuzzy slippers are her favorite.

Flash photography interrupting exersaucer playing.

"I am a person, not a prop. Put me down."

Lily's favorite new toy, the remote. See, she and I do have a lot in common :)

Lily at her doctor's appointment weigh-in.

Lily visiting outer space. Those are her chubby legs, not space suit pants.

Paper products keeping her busy.

Getting a good bite of the paper.

Recovering from her vaccinations.

Sit Down. Stand Up.

A busy but fun week. So busy in fact that I forgot yesterday was Monday and neglected to post the usual update. Please forgive faithful reader(s).

Lily is doing great. She heads off to the pediatrician this week for her six month check-up. Yes, you read that right, you have been reading this blog for six months now, and oh yes, Lily really is six months old already. She is growing like a weed and getting heavy. We were up in New York for the weekend and we decided to carry for a few blocks to dinner ... let's just say, she is not so light anymore. We will have the official weights and measures for you next week.

New York was quick but much fun. Lily got to see relatives and seemed duly impressed by the big city although she had weekended there before. Cousin Stephanie somehow managed to avoid the camera but others are in photos below. The weekend started off with a bang as the little one figured out how to sit up by herself without toppling over. She can't get to a seated position by herself but if put there she is good to play for a while.

We finished off the weekend with a visit to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house to celebrate Uncle Stan's birthday. Lily seemed impressed that so many candles could fit on one cake.

Last but not least, a mere oneweek after visiting, Lily's golfing Great Bubbie had a hole-in-one on Sunday. A coincidence or is Lily drooling on your good for the golf game? I will be testing out this hypothesis as soon as it gets warm. Regardless, congratulations, what a feat!

Til next week.

Lily sitting up all by herself for the first time.

David Copperfield was not involved here. There were no camera tricks as you can see her from the side in this shot. Now we can just plop her down and she plays with her toys.

A little dinner in New York.

Lily hanging out with her Great Aunt Donna and Great Uncle Stephen at the hotel.

With Cousin Emilie.

More sitting up and playing.

Sitting up and playing creates a lot of drool.
