We had a great week with Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan, Casey & Garrett visiting last week. We also had visits from Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom and Grandpa Maurice. Aunt Kelly and Bodie visited as well.
Lily had a great week at golf camp. Casey and Jack had fun at their camp together. It was a great week but we have no pictures to memorialize the events. Fortunately, Aunt Tracy has a video of Jack off the diving board at the pool. It was his first time at our pool!
The kids are in Montreal this week visiting with Great Aunt Donna, Great Uncle Stephen and Bubbie. We will pick them up in NYC this weekend and we should have more photos for next week.
Until then have a great week. We all want to send birthday wishes out to Grandma Phyllis who celebrates a birthday on Wednesday and belated birthday wishes to Cousin Emilie whose bday was on Saturday.

It Keeps You Runnin'
Summer is rocketing by in these parts. Last week saw the end of the summer swim season - the unofficial mid-point of the summer.
Lily had a great last week of nature camp and Jack enjoyed his week at his camp. Lily learned all about Native Americans and Jack was busy with African animals and snakes. It was a busy week.
On Friday we had movie night - after a busy week the kids were exhausted and needed a nice quiet night at home.
On Saturday we ran off to Costco in the morning - a favorite spot of Jack's since he loves all the samples they have out. Then we headed up to Columbia to pick up Lily's packet for her first triathlon. We had her bike safety checked and came home for dinner with friends Debbie and Bill and Fisher and Stuart. Fisher was doing the triathlon as well so the kids carb loaded away.
On Sunday we got up super early for Lil's race. The kids were excited and had a great time at the race. After the race we came home for a few hours and then headed off to the Washington Nationals game. The weather was nice and the Nats won so everyone had a great time. We finished off the afternoon on the field as the kids got to run the bases. We came home from the game and the exhausted kiddies passed out.
Busy week ahead as Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan, Cousins Casey and Garrett and Frisco are visiting for the week.
On to the pictures ...

Smack Dab in the Middle
Post-lake we are back into the swing of things with camp and pool time!
Lily finished up a week of Habitat Hikers nature camp and began a week of Native Americans nature camp - she goes on lots of hikes and goes ponding on a regular basis to find crawfish and other little creatures.
Jack finished up a week of Under the Sea camp where he got to pet a sand shark and hermit crab, and began a week of Jungle Safari camp - the (jungle?) animals visit on Thursday!
On Wednesday, Lily had her final (regular) B meet - she swam freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke - she is getting more confident and LOVES breaststroke (like her Mom) but we still need to get her kick legal. Lily had a big cheering squad this week - Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, Grandpa Maurice, Aunt Tracy, and of course Jack who sat as close to the pool without going in - he is so ready to be a Little Devil!
We had a nice weekend at home and got lots done around the house, including some wall hangings and more organizing - the house is slowly coming together. We went to the driving range on Saturday where the kids got to try out their new golf clubs (courtesy of Aunt Donna & Uncle Stephen) - Jack swings like a baseball bat and when I tried to correct him he stated that he already knew how to play. ;) Lily's drive is pretty good, we expect big things after her golf camp next week! Lily had her friend Hayley sleepover on Saturday for a final goodbye as she is moving to Massachusetts in a few weeks - another excuse to head north for a visit with friends/family! On Sunday, we had friends (Jen, Sarah, Purni, John, Derek, Selvan) over for a BBQ - the kids of all ages played well together, playing with all of the toys and dressing up - Jamie (8 months - lots of smiling, minimal running); Adam (22 months); Sowmya (almost 3); Jake (3.5) - the kids were thoroughly exhausted at the end of a fun evening.
Stay cool! Enjoy the pics!

Getting ready for the first race of the evening.

Jack discussing push pops with a friend from school. His friend's sister swam for the team Lily was swimming against.

Sitting in the front row. Jack kept moving closer and closer to the pool.

Firework
It seems like forever since we posted last ... well not really but a lot happens around in two weeks during the summer. Rather than waste a lot of good picture/video space on text, we will run down the highlights in list order by day ...
Week 1
Tuesday - Not really sure what happened Tuesday either but I know that the ever reliable Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom were over for a visit and to help out with after camp responsibilities. I think we had a visit from Grandpa Maurice as well but the days all blend together and that could have been Wednesday.
Wednesday - SWIM MEET. Lily swam freestyle, backstroke and added breast stroke to the repertoire. It was the first go with the breast stroke and she loved it but she got disqualified since her stroke was off. It is tough stroke but she is working on it and will be back at it tomorrow. It was Marcy's best stroke so hopefully the power of genes and some more lessons will get her over the hump at the next meet.
Thursday - Kind of a blur. That is why we update every week!
Friday - BIG STORM! We finished up dinner, put the kids to bed and were watching tv when the biggest storm I have ever seen ripped through the area. Lots of tree branches down and no power for a couple of days. Fortunately, we were headed to the lake so we did not have sit in the swelter for long.
Saturday - We left bright and early for the lake. We packed up the car headed off to the lake with much of the contents of our fridge along with us. We made it the lake in great time and spent most of the day in the water and hanging out with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, Great Uncle Mike and Cousin Davis. Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan, cousins Casey and Garret arrived around bedtime.
Monday - Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom and cousin Garrett stayed home while the rest of the gang headed to Busch Gardens for a fun day. Lots of rides and food and everyone had a great time.
Tuesday - More lake time.
Thursday - More lake.
Friday - Even more lake time.
Saturday - Lake time and then an evening of fireworks.
Sunday - We came home. Marcy and Lily headed off to the kennel to pick up Daisy and Jack and I went to his friend Ben's birthday party. Grandpa Maurice stopped by after dinner and read the kids a bed time story and everyone slept well after such a fun/busy week.

On the way to the lake.

Casey, Garett, Lily and Jack.

Jack loved it when Davis threw him in the air. Davis was a good sport and did this over and over and over. Jack would bob back up and immediately ask to go again!

Waterskiing.

Casey and Lily with Uncle Mike.

Killing a gingerbread man.

Waiting for the bumper cars.

On a spinny ride.

Everyone with a prize from whack a hun.

Week 1
Monday - I have no real recollection of Monday two weeks ago. The kids had another week of school camp for Jack and nature camp for Lily. They both seem to be having a good time.

I think we had a visit from Grandpa Maurice as well but the days all blend together and that could have been Wednesday.

Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan, cousins Casey and Garret arrived around bedtime.
Week 2
Sunday - Lot's of lake time. The kids were like fish and swam, rode tubes, jet skis and all the other boats. Lily also continued to work on her water skiing and is improving by leaps and bounds. Jack did a bit of knee boarding and the kids had a great time. Aunt Kelly and Bodie arrived during the afternoon.
Monday - Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom and cousin Garrett stayed home while the rest of the gang headed to Busch Gardens for a fun day. Lots of rides and food and everyone had a great time.
Tuesday - More lake time.
Wednesday - 4th of July. Lots of patriotic bathing suits and some sparklers. Cousin Alex arrived for a visit.
We all had a great time. It was great to see the family for the annual 4th of July festivities. Thanks to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom for their fantastic hospitality.
