I was a Teenage Werewolf

A busy Halloween week in the books ... Lily and Jack had their usual visit from Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Lily continued with her new set of tennis lessons. Thursday was piano lesson day.

On Friday, Marcy and Jack attended Lily's halloween parade at school. The class dressed up as characters from the Cat in the Hat.

On Saturday, Lily took her first trip to the bank to open her first kids bank account. It was pretty exciting and she is looking forward to a return visit to deposit some more allowance money. Later that day we headed to the Air & Space Museum Annex to see their Halloween event - lots of Star Wars characters and candy - and a chance to see friends Kate, Carter and Adam. We managed to avoid the first snow flakes of the season while out and about.

On Sunday we ran a couple of errands and relaxed at home. Today was Jack's school halloween parade and tonight the kiddies headed out to trick or treat!

That is all for now. Pics below ...

Fun and busy week in the books...Dad is out of town so Mom is doing a quick entry.

Tuesday - Lily and Jack went to Chick-Fil-A w/ Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom

Thursday - Lily had piano and soccer practice

Friday - Lily had no school so she helped Mom do last minute errands for the neighborhood fall festival then she went to Marley's house for a play date and then the last day of tennis (she begins tennis at another place on Wednesday); Jack went to school and had fun with his pals (he has a whole gang that he hangs with and they play lots of fun, imaginative game, like today they played Zombie)

Saturday - neighborhood halloween/fall festival, including a parade, moonbounce, pumpkin bowling; Jack later played soccer

Sunday - Lily and Jack both ran in a Halloween Kids 1 mile run, they had a great time; we had brunch with Emilie who was in town; and then later celebrated Stuart's birthday with G&G, Grandpa Maurice, and Aunt Kelly, which included carving pumpkins

TODAY is Stuart's birthday so Lily and Jack want to send out special birthday hugs and kisses to DADDY!!
Enjoy the pics!

Warmer Climate

Everyone seems to be back to good health this week - LIly is over her hacking cough from last week and Jack has managed to stay healthy. We had a reprieve from our rainy weather this fall with a beautiful weekend and we took full advantage with lots of outside time.

Lily had a great week at school and we got a very nice email from her teacher on Tuesday letting us know that Lily was doing great with her reading. It is always nice to get spontaneous feedback from teachers! Lily was deservedly proud of her good work.

Jack is definitely going through a growth spurt as he is eating a ton and his pants are getting a bit short for him these days.

Both kids are getting excited for Halloween - Jack is not quite sure what he is going as but Lily has decided to be a ghost. We will post pics once costumes are ready for viewing.

That is about all. We had our regular visit from Grandma Gail on Tuesday and we stopped by to visit with Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis over the weekend.

Not too many pictures this week but here is what we have ... Have a great week everyone.

Sick Cycle Carousel

This is going to be a Jack centered post because Lily essentially spent the entire week either in bed or on the couch watching movies...

Last we reported Lily was under the weather and had missed school on Monday. Well she ended up missing the entire week except for a half day on Wednesday and went downhill Wednesday night. By Friday, she went back to the doctor and pneumonia was diagnosed. Once she started on antibiotics her fever was gone and her cough got much better. So she went back to school today, definitely a little pale, but much healthier.

Jack had a good week although he was a little jealous of Lily and all the movies she got to watch, at one point he was pretending that he had a runny nose so he could hopefully join Lily on the couch - he has quite the sense of humor. Jack did get to go to Rosh Hashana services on Wednesday night with Stuart - he was excited to put on his suit jacket and wear a yarmulke. Once at the service, he kept asking when they were going to serve challah. On Thursday night, Jack and Stuart went down the street to have challah, apples, and honey with Gena, Greg, Nate and Gus - Jack ate lots of challah and apples but did not really enjoy dipping into the honey.

The weekend was kind of a wash out with lots of rain and chilly temperatures so soccer was cancelled. Instead we had lunch with John, Michelle, Cole and Hayley, and then the kids hung out in the basement playing with lots of toys and wore every possible dress up outfit. Aunt Kelly then joined us for dinner and she spent the night so Mom and Dad could wake up early to go do a triathlon relay (Mom - swim; Dad - bike). On Sunday, Aunt Kelly made them a feast of a breakfast and then took the kids to see Dolphin Tale which they loved. Thanks Kel!! Post-movie, Jack went to a birthday party for one of his classmates and bounced, ate pizza, ate cake, and ate ice cream. Stuart and the kids then had a quick visit with Grandma Phyllis and dinner with Grandpa Maurice.

We are looking forward to a normal, healthy week to start out October! Enjoy the pics of Jack, Lily will be back next week!
