Boat Parade

Lily and Jack have been sound asleep for almost an hour - busy dreaming off an action packed Memorial Day Weekend. The early part of the week was pretty normal but with no school on Thursday and Friday due to new student kindergarten orientation the kids headed over to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning they headed down to the lake for a long weekend of fun in the sun and water.

On Thursday night, Marcy and I headed down to meet them and to spend a little time away. The weather was great and we had a great time in the water and on all the watercraft. Lily and Jack were really busy and kept waking up really early, going straight to G&G's room to start the day. Needless to say by the time we climbed in the car last night, the children were tired. Jack soldiered on and stayed awake almost the entire way home watching the Sound of Music, while Lily passed out about half way home!

It was about 95 degrees today so we headed over to the pool for the first time this season. The kids had a great time and we came home for a quick play date with neighborhood friends. Then it was off to dinner and to bed.

Thanks to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom for the kidsitting and their hospitality.

Lily and Jack want to send out special birthday wishes to Aunt Kelly who is celebrating her birthday on Sunday, and fortunately we get to spend the day with her, I'm sure we will have lots of pics to document the day!

A Ride

Warm weather is upon us and we have been spending a lot of time outdoors - grilling, playing in the backyard, family walks in the evening. Lily got a new bike (20 inch w/ a hand break) this weekend and after taking a 4 mile bike ride on Saturday with friend Maddie, as a family we took a 9 mile bike ride on Sunday to the park!

On Friday, Lily's class went on a field trip to Glen Echo Park and saw a Snow White Puppet Show, she had a lot of fun. On Saturday, Lily and Jack had their last day of soccer, overall it was a great season for both kids, and I think they both want to play again in the fall.

Lily and Jack want to send out happy anniversary wishes to Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice.

Enjoy the pics!

Rockin Robin

Another normal week in the books here. Visits from Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom on Tuesday. Soccer on Saturday accompanied by Aunt Kelly. A visit on Sunday with Grandma Phyllis, Grandpa Maurice and Great Aunt Paula who was in town visiting.

The big excitement this week were the baby robins that were born in our storage shed. The babies were out and hopping around - avoiding Daisy - and learning to fly. The kids had a good time checking in on them and watching them as they learned how to get around.

That is all for now. Happy graduation to cousin Stephanie who finished up her masters program today!

Nobody Loves Me But My Mother

A whirlwind week and I think we are just recovering from a packed weekend!

We started our week with our regular Tuesday visit by Grandma Gail and newly retired Grandpa Tom. On Wednesday, we had a little excitement as Lily lost 2 teeth, one top, one bottom, and the tooth fairy came through for her again. Thursday evening was spent at Gail and Tom's where we celebrated the birthdays of both Gail and Marcy. We had a great time and lots of cake! Friday night was movie night and the kids enjoyed a new Disney Channel flick. On Saturday we started the day off with a visit from friends Erin, Rob and Holden for a lunchtime bar-b-que. Then it was off to soccer. No goals for Lily this week but she is getting the hang of the soccer thing. Jack on the other hand did score one! After soccer it was off to our neighbors house for a belated Cinco de Mayo party. The kids had a great time and came home and crashed while our neighbor Julie watched the kids as Marcy and I headed out for a birthday dinner.

Sunday was Marcy's birthday and Mother's day. I got up early and made a breakfast feast for the birthday/mother's day bonanza. We had home made waffles, muffins and fresh fruit. Everyone was stuffed and we headed off to Home Depot to pick up the spring's planting. Then it was home for lunch and a family bike ride. Then we visited Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice for a Mother's day visit. Then it was off for dinner with Aunt Kelly who stopped by to visit. We all slept well last night after a successful celebratory weekend.

That is all for now. Enjoy the pictures.

Soul Singer in a Session Band

We got back into the swing of things with school and work.

On Friday, there was a Parent Breakfast at Jack's school where he sang songs and played instruments with his classmates and Ms. Jan. Jack was all smiles and sang all of the songs including Puff the Magic Dragon. Later on Friday, we visited for a short time with Great Uncle Jon. While he was visiting, Jack and Lily were rolling around the floor together and Jack's shorts button hit Lily's loose front tooth essentially knocking it out. After Lily got over all of the blood, she was excited to put her first (non-pulled) tooth under her pillow. The tooth fairy showed up right on time.

On Saturday, the kids played soccer. Lily was scrimmaging another team and managed to score THREE goals! (Unfortunately we do not have any pictures/video.) It was pretty exciting and everyone was jumping up and down and cheering, we will try to get any future scoring on video. It was especially exciting since these were the first and only goals we have seen this season.

On Sunday, we visited with Grandpa Maurice, Grandma Phyllis, and friend Chris who was in town from Providence. Grandma Phyllis seems to be feeling a bit better which is great news.

Lily and Jack want to send out special birthday wishes to Grandma Gail who is celebrating her birthday on Saturday. Also Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

P.S. - happy birthday and mother's day to Marcy who only gets one day to celebrate both this year!
