Summertime

While Dad attended to fantasy football business, Mom, Lily and Jack headed to the lake with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, and Ivan. We hung out at G&G's earlier in the day on Friday and left after dinner on Friday night. Saturday was a beautiful day, and Lily, Mom and Grandma enjoyed some time on the purple raft with Grandpa Tom and Jack driving the seadoo - with GT as the driver, Grandma almost flew out and grabbed Lily's leg to stay in - Lily has drawn a picture at school to document the hilarious event. On Sunday, we enjoyed some time more time at the lake, and headed home after lunch. Fortunately, the drive to and from was pretty much traffic free and the kids were great! Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis then joined us for dinner.

Lily wants to send out special birthday wishes to Hayley who is turning 5 on Wednesday!

Enjoy the pics!

Buckets of Rain

Summer is winding down but we still have a lot going on and September will only get busier with Lily's 5th birthday coming up in a few weeks...

On Thursday, Grandma Gail came to hang with Jack - they got in lots of outdoor time in the backyard and at the park - thanks Grandma! On Thursday night, Mom, Dad, Lily and Jack went to the Nationals game. It was very warm but the kids had a blast - Lily was all about taking pictures and finding the mascots, whereas Jack just wanted to walk the aisles and talk to the people - both kids enjoyed their dinner which essentially consisted of popcorn.

On Friday, Mom, Lily and Jack met Tiffany and Ella (2 1/2) at a local park - the kids had fun but we all almost melted on the playground! The rest of the day was spent in the air conditioning and we dined at a local Mexican restaurant.

On Saturday, we had a visit from friends Matthew, Lauren and Jackson (11 months) and enjoyed a nice brunch. The rest of the day was spent hanging around the house trying to avoid the torrential storms, and Jack managed to take a 3 hour nap.

On Sunday, Lily had an early morning playdate with neighbor/schoolmate Pierce, where they had breakfast and got in lots of playing. We picked Lily up and headed over to Cole and Hayley's house, where the Moms and kids went to lunch, blackberry picking and then got in some play time.

Enjoy the pics!! Lots of pictures of Jack this week - we will try for more balance next week.

Cousin Dupree

The kids had a good week getting back into the swing of things, Jack hanging with Jonah and Beatrice and Lily going to school. Jack gets extremely excited and is all smiles when he sees Beatrice and Jonah and barely gives Mom and Dad a goodbye glance - fortunately he also jumps up and down and starts spinning in circles when we come to pick him up at the end of the day. Lily had water play at school on Tuesday, and said her last goodbye to one of her classmates that is going to kindergarten in a few weeks. Lily is now officially the oldest in her class - and is likely the oldest at her school with her September birthday - but she interacts with all of the kids at her school.

On Thursday, we had a special visit by Toronto cousins Lisa, Kevin, Matthew, Adam and Samara, and Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis also came by for the visit. We had a good dinner and the kids had a good time playing in the backyard and the basement. On Friday, Grandma Gail came over and took Lily to the pool while Jack napped, and Grandpa Tom later joined us for dinner. The rest of the weekend was very low key. On Saturday morning, Lily, Jack and Mom went on a bike ride/stroller ride to the playground and creek - Jack could have thrown rocks into the creek all day. Later, the kids hung at home with Dad, and later we went out for pizza/pasta. On Sunday, we went to the pool for a few hours, ran errands, and Mom, Lily and Jack headed to the playground again for a bit.

Enjoy the pics!

Mother and Child Reunion

A busy week here without Marcy. While she was away for work, Jack, Lily and I had the company of Aunt Donna. We three were in good hands as Donna took great care of us. Jack and Lily had a great time and got lots of special attention - bonus art projects, bonus pool time, concerts, etc. The kids had a great time and the extra set of hands was a huge help.

On Friday night Marcy came home and Lily and I met her at the airport. Needless to say Lily was very happy to see her mommy and Jack was thrilled when we all arrived home. They settle for me but the LOVE their mother :)

On Saturday, Lily, Jack and Marcy took Donna off to the airport and we were back on our own again. Saturday evening was dinner with friends and Sunday was a morning at the pool and a visit with Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis. Today everyone was back on schedule - work, school and Beatrice.

It is going to be a hot week here so maybe some pool time and a planned visit from some out of town cousins. We are also carefully planning Lil's 5th Birthday Bash - more details to follow!

Onto the pictures.

Endless Summer

Summer rolls on. More pool, more outside time but fewer pictures.

We spent a lot of time at the pool this week. Lily finished up her swim lessons and is officially classified as a fish. She loves being in the pool and is looking forward to being on the little kids swim team one day. Jack plays around in the shallow end but is ready to go.

On Friday we had visits from Grandma Gail and Aunt Donna. Donna is visiting for the week while Marcy is away for work. The kids love having her around and are enjoying all the special attention.

On Saturday Lily was off to a classmate's birthday party - a superhero party where she wore her brother's cape. She had a great time and keeps coming up with ideas as to what should be happening at her party next month. It will be a Hawaiian theme ... more details to follow.

Anyway, on to the pictures. We will try to have more next week. We have more Canadian visitor coming in for a visit - Cousins Lisa, Kevin, Matthew, Adam and Samara - so we will be sure to get some good pictures in the next few weeks.
