Wade in the Water

Summer is coming on fast and we are running to keep up! The week that was included highlights like a visit from cousin Emilie, a trip to the pool, a dinner out with grandparents and a nice father's day.

Cousin Emilie came to town on Thursday for business she had in town today. She spent three nights with us and had lots of quality time with the kids. Friday was spent at the pool and everyone had a great time. We went out for a nice dinner and the kids had a great time.

On Saturday, Marcy and I had a thing so Cousin Emilie watched the kiddies. Emilie did a great job and everyone had a great time. Sunday was father's day and I was awoken to breakfast in bed ... well maybe next year :) But I did get to sleep in a little and got a great card from Lily and Jack. We finished off the weekend with some errands and dinner with Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis.

Tonight was Lil's first swim lesson at our pool and she did a great job. I think she will be a fish by the end of the summer.

Marcy and the kids are off to the lake on Friday so next update may not be until after July 4th weekend. We will have to see what pictures we will have. Since there may not be a new update - we will send early birthday wishes to Grandpa Maurice whose birthday is next week.

On to the pics and video ...

Twisting by the Pool

Not much to report this week. Lily and Jack and uneventful week of school and nanny time. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were spent playing outside and at the pool. Lily is turning into quite the fish - she is under water and swimming towards the deep end by herself (but with supervision). Jack enjoys the pool also but I think he will be more comfortable when the water warms up a little bit.

Here are a few pics ... we were camera negligent this week.

Something to Talk About

Happy to report from a sunny and warm climate, after enduring a ridiculous amout of rain and cool temps last week. On Friday, Lily had her end of the year hawaiian themed school party, which unfortunately had to be held indoors due to the weather. Lily and her classmates still had fun though, and the highlight was meeting Bubbles the clown. While Lily initially would not go anywhere near Bubbles, she got up the nerve to wait in line for an animal balloon. Bubbles made her a flower balloon and she gave him a high five. Following her initial meeting with Bubbles, she then was explaining to one of her classmates that Bubbles was not scary and would make an animal balloon. She patiently stood in line with her classmate and held his hand until he reached Bubbles, and also requested an animal ballon for Jack. By the end of the night, Lily had requested a third balloon from Bubbles and gave him a big hug. While Bubbles was the highlight, she also enjoyed limbo and pin the tail on the toucan (?).

On Saturday, the family attended a dual showing of the Milkshake (kids band) concert and the Bowie Baysox (baseball team) game with Hayley, Cole, Ms. Michelle, and Mr. John. Some of Lily's classmates were also in attendance. Lily and Jack kept busy throughout the afternoon, into the evening hours rocking out, watching (very little) baseball, and making several visits to the 'Kids Zone' - the girls got in some fun on the carousel, moonbounce, and throwing a baseball, and Jack rode his very first carousel! Both Lily and Jack enjoyed lots of treats, and were thoroughly exhausted at the end of the night.

On Sunday, we spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the water, sand and sun in our backyard. Later, Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis came over for some play time and dinner.

Hoping to get some pool time in this week and weekend...have a good week!

Ticket to Ride

Sorry for the delay in  posting - 10:30 rolled around last night and I had completely forgotten what day of the week it was. We will try to avoid that in the future. We had a busy week here with visits from out of town family and local friends.

The school week was pretty normal and Lil and Jack both had good weeks. On Wednesday we had a quick visit from Uncle Stephen who was in town for some business. On Thursday, Lily and Jack headed over to Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom's house for a sleep over visit with cousin Casey and Aunt Tracy who were in from out of town. On Friday, Lil, Jack and Casey were set for some portraits but Jack woke up sick - a fever - and was quite grumpy all morning. Needless to say the picture session has be rescheduled for this Friday.

On Saturday we went on a bike ride and had a spontaneous picnic which both kiddies seemed to enjoy. Jack traveled in the carrier and Lily rode her bike - she only fell off twice! No major damage. We finished the day by visiting the home of a co-worker who was hosting a graduation party for her daughter. There was a moon bounce there for the younger kids so Lil was in heaven and Jack toddled around inside for a while.

On Sunday we finished up tennis lessons and had a nice barbeque with friends from Marcy's work. We hosted Purnima, Sarah, Derek, Jen, John and Jake. Everyone seemed to have a good time and there was plenty of food to go around.

That is all for this week. Happy birthday wishes to incommunicado Aunt Kelly :)
