Talk of the Town

Another week in the books...Lily is over her bout with strep throat and is back in good health. Fortunately, Jack stayed healthy throughout.

Over the weekend, we got in some pool time on Saturday and Sunday. Lily is pretty independent swimming around in her tube, and is getting more comfortable putting her face in the water. Jack just loves sitting in the water and splashing and could ideally sit there all day.

Lily is continuing to talk up a storm and is curious about everything, asking many questions up until she finally closes her eyes to go to sleep. We actually had a scary rainstorm on Wednesday night while Lily was still awake, and our house was struck by lightening frying the alarm and phone wires - Lily was pretty frightened of the crashing and booming which was completely understandable, Jack on the other hand slept right through it.

Jack is now reaching out to be picked up and is talking quite a bit saying "dadadadada" - he is very ready to start moving but he is not quite there. He is eating like a champ - 4 1/2 bottles per day, cereal in the morning, veggie in the early afternoon, and fruit in the evening - he must be close to 20 lbs!

Today, Great Aunt Donna and Great Uncle Stephen came into town for the week - Donna is in charge of both Lily and Jack tomorrow so we will see if she is ready for a long nap by late afternoon!

Lily and Jack want to send out birthday hugs and kisses to Cousin Emilie who turns 28 today!! Lily and Jack also want to send out birthday hugs and kisses to Grandma Phyllis who is celebrating a birthday on Friday! Enjoy the few pics we have...

The Further I Slide

So as I type this blog entry I can hear Lily upstairs trying to negotiate a few more minutes of freedom before bed. She maybe almost four but these days it seems that she is going on 14! She s all about testing these days. Terrible twos have nothing on testing threes.

In the week that was there is little exciting to report. Lily was bit under the weather with her first bout of strep throat. She complained of a sore throat on Tuesday and when it was still bothering her on Wednesday we jetted off to the doctor for a quick throat swab. She seems to be recovering now and is taking her pink medicine like a champ. She recovered in time for a fun Friday at the pool with Aunt Kelly who was visiting. Also stopping by were Kelly's friend Colli and Grandma Gail.

Saturday we had a busy day shopping and then fun night visiting with Hayley and Cole. Well it was fun until we got to the Japanese steakhouse and Lily got a little scared of the chef's handiwork in front of us. Jack was a little scared by the cooking but was back to his cheery self after a couple of minutes.

Sunday was spent with some low key time around the house and another trip to the pool. We capped the weekend off with dinner with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice.

That is all there is to report. On to the pictures.

Twisting by the Pool

Not much news to report this week. Lily and Jack continue to be busy and enjoy the summer with trips to the pool and lots of playing outside.

Lily is busy at school learning about growing corn and hatching baby chicks. She is very excited about the chicks and keeps talking about them! She seems to be really enjoying school and seems to look forward to going each week. Jack will be following in her footsteps in 2 short years.

Jack is doing well with the eating and sleeping. He seems to really like his veggies and fruits and is looking forward to more variety in the future. The hair continues to arrive and he will soon have more than me :(

We had a busy weekend visiting with Grandma Maurice and Grandma Phyllis and visiting the pool. Lily loves going swimming and is becoming more and more comfortable in the water. She loves going down the big slide and has fun jumping into the water. Jack is becoming quite the water baby and he has fun sitting with Marcy or I in the water.

Until next week. Enjoy the pics.

Slip Sliding Away

A busy vacation week in the books. We headed down to the lake on Tuesday night and had six busy days ahead of us. Lily and Jack got plenty fresh air and time in the water.

Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom were tremendous hosts. Lily and Jack also got lots of quality time with Aunts Tracy and Kelly and Uncle Stan. Cousins Casey, Alli, Alex and Davis were visiting as well. Joining us later in the week were Great Aunts Jeannie and Jennifer and Great Uncles Mike and Carlton. Cousins Valerie, Bill and little Liam visited for the weekend.

There was lots to eat, lots of fun in the water, lots of boat rides and fireworks. Not much news to report this week other than Jack's increasing hair line. On to the pics and video ...
