Two Step

First, Jack and Lily want to send out belated birthday hugs and kisses to Grandpa Maurice who celebrated a birthday yesterday!

On to the week events...Lily and Jack spent Friday night with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom and they had a fabulous time. As you will see below, they also got to hang out with cousin Casey a bit. Dad picked the kids up on Saturday, and Mom came back home on Sunday to find Jack taking a nap after he had already slept for about 14 hours the night before! He is a growing boy! Lily got in some pool time, and is becoming so much more comfortable in the water, dunking her head in the water, tooling around in her tube without holding onto us, and she was very brave and went down the tunnel slide and flew into the water and into the arms of Mom - she had a blast but decided she would hold off on sliding again until next time.

We are off to the lake for July 4th festivities...will have many family pics next week! Happy July 4th to everyone!!

Zoo Station

Summer is officially here!!

On Wednesday, Grandma Gail took Lily to the zoo, and they had a fabulous time seeing all of the animals and petting some of the animals i.e. cow, goat, the lion was not available.

Friday Mom, Lily and Jack hit the pool for about 5 minutes of swimming in the chilly pool, played outside, and then the fam walked to the downtown area for some dinner and outdoor music.

On Saturday, Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis stayed with Lily and Jack while Mom and Dad went to a Nats game with friends - Lily was on her best behavior, Jack on the other hand was smiley and happy as long as he was being held!

On Sunday, the fam played outside, hit the pool again, and then cousin Casey came over to be babysat so Tracy and Stan could go to a concert. Lily and Jack had a great time playing with their cousin, and Casey ate and slept well!

Have a good week, enjoy the pics!

Papa Was A Rolling Stone

We had a very nice Father's Day yesterday to conclude a busy week and weekend. Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis came over for brunch and Lily got a chance to play in the backyard on a very nice day. Jack was a not nearly as exciting as he took a three hour long nap.

Earlier in the week Jack had his six month doctor's appointment and all went well. He remains in the 50th percentile for both height and weight but remains above average personality. He is just under 18 pounds and he is 26.5 inches long. He is big into baby food these days and he has teeth coming in as we speak.

On Saturday Lily, Jack and I went to Lily's schoolmate Pierce's birthday party. Marcy joined us midway as she had a work volunteer activity. Lily had a good time at the party and bounced around in the moon bounce. Saturday night we visited friends Hayley and Cole and Lily had a great time playing with Hayley and Cole had fun entertaining Jack.

That is all for now. On to the pictures ...

Hot Fun in the Summertime

Earlier in the week, we had a quick visit from Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis and enjoyed dinner with them before they headed to Florida.

Lily had a good week at school, and Jack enjoyed his time with Jonah and Beatrice. On Friday, the entire family joined Lily at her school for the end of the year party - it was extremely warm but still lots of fun. Lily got in several pony rides, several rounds on the moonbounce and won a little horse playing pin the tail on the donkey. Jack observed all of the happenings and is looking forward to when he will be able to participate.

On Saturday, we visited our new pool and Lily had a great time splashing around with her classmate Audrey and other kids. Jack had a good time sticking his feet in the water but is looking forward to a day at the pool when it is not so hot!

On Sunday, we played in the backyard, and enjoyed an afternoon visit from Grandpa Tom and Grandma Gail.

Lily is growing like a weed and is now wearing a size 10 shoe, her feet look enormous with her little chicken legs. Jack is also growing like a weed and is just about sitting up, we think in another week he will have the balance down. He has moved on to peas which he seems to prefer over sweet potatoes, and overall is looking forward to more variety. He has his 6 month check-up on Friday so details to follow - no question though he is a big boy!

Lily and Jack want to send out hugs and kisses to Daddy wishing him a Happy Father's Day. They also want to send out hugs and kisses to their Grandpas, Uncles, and all the other fathers they know to wish them a Happy Father's Day - to include Uncle Stan who is celebrating his first father's day with cousin Casey!

Question of Time

June has arrived and has thankfully brought some warm, sunny weather!  Lily had a good few days at school playing outside and creating lots of art - we have decided that we need to start sending large bulk packages of artwork to family members as it is becoming a little overwhelming and the two large corkboards that we hung in the basement to display such art are crammed!

Jack has been just as busy, rolling all over the place, and he nows enjoys sleeping on his stomach. He still needs a little support sitting up, but we suspect doing it on his own is just around the corner.  He has been eating like a champ, close to 8 oz every 3 hours, and once that 3 hour mark hits, his bottle better be ready or we will hear about it. ;)  Oatmeal with bananas has been on the menu for the past few weeks and he had his first taste of sweet potatoes this week which he seems to enjoy quite a bit - tomorrow we are moving on to peas - yummy!

Mom, Lily and Jack headed to the lake this weekend to visit with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, and lake neighbors Annie and Pat.  (Dad stayed home and got some painting done which is pretty much impossible to do with the kiddies around.)  Lily was on the go all weekend, riding the seadoo, pontooning, playing in the sandbox, running in the Diego sprinkler, playing on the swingset, and otherwise just running from one activity to another.  She  likes to "go fast" on the seadoo, and likes to wave to every single boat and jet ski that passes.  She has definitely become a lot more confident around the water, although she is still a bit hesitant to touch the bottom of the lake with her feet - some water shoes might help!  Jack enjoyed some time on the pontoon, and got in some good naps, and is looking forward to hanging out in the whale float for the 4th of July weekend once the water is warmer.

Lily and Jack want to send out Happy Birthday hugs and kisses to Aunt Kelly who turns the big 30 on Thursday!

Enjoy the pics!
