Climbing Up The Walls

A relatively quiet week at the homestead. We enjoyed some nice warm weather during the week and got in some walks and playground time. On Friday, Lily came down with a fever and essentially spent the rest of the weekend recovering. Dad did a great job of taking care of an under the weather Lily and Jack while Mom went to see friends on Saturday. On Sunday, Grandma Gail came by for a quick visit.

We are very excited to feature the artwork that cousin Stephanie has completed for Jack - this time around she painted the pics on canvases so in case we decide to move again we don't lose the hard work! ;) Stephanie did a fabulous job as always! To view Stephanie's other work check out her website at www.stephaniecooper.com - we are so lucky to have such a talented cousin!

Lily and Jack want to send out Happy Birthday hugs and kisses to Aunt Tracy who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow! Speaking of birth days, Tracy is going into the hospital on her birthday evening to be induced - we anticipate Baby Girl Ward on Wed?? We will keep you posted!

The Sounds of Science

We enjoyed a fabulous week of warm and sunny weather so we took several evening walks and got in several visits to the neighborhood playground.

On Thursday, Lily's school held a Science Exploratorium in which the children participated in many different science experiments in the different classrooms. In Lily's classroom, the Rainbow Bears, the experiment was how a scab forms - kind of disgusting but very interesting. There are pictures of Lily hung up at school watching the chemical reaction experiment with vinegar, baking soda, a bottle, and balloon, and she was apparently very nervous that the balloon was going to pop. She also learned about how a garden grows, earthworms, and musical chimes.

On Saturday, Lily had a breakfast date with Grandpa Maurice, and then we enjoyed the rest of the day playing in the backyard. Lily even helped our neighbor pick up sticks in her yard so they would not get stuck in the mower - for some reason though when we ask her to pick up sticks in our yard she somehow always gets distracted! Saturday evening we went to Naomi and Jonah's house for a Passover Seder - the kids had fun and the food was delicious.

Jack has found his voice this week, he likes to babble for long periods of time - and especially babbles and laughs when Lily talks to him. He is definitely rolling over onto his belly but we have still yet to witness it.

Lily and Jack want to wish everyone a Happy Passover!

Lily and Jack also send out Congratulation hugs and kisses to Aunt Kelly who was accepted into business school at University of Colorado Boulder - so now both aunts will be in CO as of this summer - makes it easier to go visit!

P.S. Baby Girl Ward is officially one day late, so needless to say Tracy is more than ready for her arrival, we'll keep you posted!

Boys Keep Swinging

Second week with the nanny Beatrice went well, Jack seemed to enjoy himself over at Jonah's house, and the pickup and drop off seemed to go relatively smoothly. We have attempted to give Jack rice cereal on two occasions but he does not really seem to be interested, we will try again this week but probably won't start any veggies until month 5 so he has plenty of time to adjust. On Friday, he had his 4 month appt - he weighed in at 15 pounds 3 ounces and was 25 inches long - both in the 50th percentile. He is gurgling quite a bit these days, and experimenting with noises including laughing. Apparently he rolled over a second time but of course right when we stepped out of the room.

In Lily land, we had an International Dinner at Lily's school this week in which we sampled many different foods - well Lily had a hot dog - but Mom and Dad sampled some of the fare. Dad made a delicious kugel for the event.

The weekend brought some beautiful warm weather. On Friday, Lily rode her tricycle to the playground while Jack strolled, and the rest of the day was spent playing in the backyard. On Saturday, Lily attended her friend Naomi's birthday party, and then we went on a family bike ride/stroll - Dad pulled Lily in the bike trailer while Mom strolled with Jack - Mom definitely had the easier task! On Sunday, we ran some errands and played in the basement, and had a late day visit from Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis.

Lily and Jack are anxiously awaiting news of their first cousin - Aunt Tracy is 39 weeks 1 day so it could be any day now, we'll keep you posted!

Call Me On Your Way Back Home

Well week one for Marcy back at work down. Jack had a great time last week hanging out with Jonah and nanny Beatrice. Everyone is stating to get their bearings and figure things out. This week Jack is at Jonah's house so we are figuring out how that how works for us.

Jack and Lily continue to grow like weeds. Jack is up to consistent 8 oz. bottles and is starting cereal this week. Jack has been rolling from side to side for a few weeks on Friday he woke up from a nap on his belly. Unfortunatley we have not witnessed for ourselves any rolling over, soon enough. Four month check up is on Friday!

This past weekend Lily and Jack spent the night at Grandma Gail's and Grandpa Tom's house. Marcy and I had plans for a nice dinner and some project completion work around the house. Unfortunately, Marcy came down with a stomach virus and was completely under the weather. No nice dinner but just a relaxing night at the house and a nice morning to sleep in on Sunday. The children were back last night and exhuasted from the night away.

That is all for now. Have a good week.
