Well approximately 8 weeks until "baby brother" makes an appearance and Lily is talking it up quite a bit. When we are in a store, she wants to buy things for her baby brother or points to things that her baby brother "needs" so we have had to curb her desire to throw everything she sees in the cart. She also has designated toys that she intends to share with her baby brother, and which toys are specifically hers. Today, she asked when her baby brother is "coming out" and said that she is going to hold his hand and that he is going to "be very nice." In other baby news, Lily is happy to report that in addition to a baby brother, she is also getting her very first cousin, courtesy of Aunt Tracy and Uncle Stan. Her cousin is due in April, and she can't wait to meet him/her!
On to the activities of the week...Lily had a good week at school and has moved into fall mode, coloring leaves and pumpkins - we are looking forward to a school trip to a farm next week!
On Friday, Lily had gymnastics which she enjoyed as always, and has already said she wants to sign up for the next session. Later in the day, Grandma Gail came over for a visit and dinner.
Saturday brought a lot of activity. We started out the day with her old school friend Gavin's birthday party at a duckpin bowling alley - by the end Lily was getting the hang of throwing (opposed to just dropping) the ball and watching as her ball knocked down some pins. Afterwards, we went to meet Lily's new friend Wyatt, son of friends Chris and Kristen - she said he is "very cute." We then headed home and shortly thereafter, Ms. Heather, her former teacher, showed up to babysit while Mom and Dad went to celebrate their anniversary. Lily didn't miss a beat reacquainting herself with Ms. Heather, and barely said goodbye to Mom and Dad. She had tons of fun showing Ms. Heather her swingset, all of her toys, and even finagled Ms. Heather into singing an array of songs (multiple times) before bedtime. After such a busy day, she had no problem falling asleep!
Sunday was spent hanging out at home playing with toys, playing outside, and watching the Redskins lose to the Packers. The weekend ended with a delish dinner of pasta with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice. See you next week!
