Homesick

Another week in Lily world in the books. Lil was a little under the weather but a little cold at the end of the week did not stop a fun field trip from happening. On Tuesday, Lil and her classmates went to a local farm for pumpkin choosing (they were already picked), some pony riding and goat meeting. She had a great time with all of her friends.

The rest of the week was pretty quiet as Lil was hit by a cold. She seemed better tonight and will be headed back to school tomorrow. Yesterday was a fun family dinner with all the Grandparents and Uncle Stan and Aunt Tracy. That is about all we have to report this week. Six weeks and counting to baby brother's arrival.

On to the pics ...

Dressing Up

"Watch what I can do" - this starts pretty much every other sentence these days as Lily has many things to show us such as throwing a ball, doing a gymnastics trick, or some other trick she has created on her own. We are making every attempt to document the latest and greatest! :)

On Friday, Lily went to gymnastics and there was an enormous choo choo train moon bounce - Lily "bounced really high" and went down the slide "really fast." She also tackled the giant rope swing on her own.

On Saturday, Lily enthusiastically got dressed for a neighborhood Halloween parade - Lily had originally said she wanted to be a black cat but finally decided on a princess costume (which we already had, so it worked out well). The parade led to some fun games, including pumpkin bowling and three turns on the moon bounce. She also was able to meet some more neighborhood kids. Later in the day, we headed for a visit with Hayley and Cole - as always she had tons of fun! At one point, while at Baskins Robbins, Mom heard Lily asking Hayley to watch her cone (only cone, she doesn't like ice cream) for her and she got up and started to run for the bathroom - little miss independence - fortunately mom caught up with her! We forgot to take pics so check out Hayley and Cole's blog (link to the right) and there may be a pic of Hayley and Lily.

On Sunday, after a morning of errands, the rest of the day was spent playing in the basement and outside. Later in the day, Grandma Phyllis and Granpda Maurice came over for a visit and treated everyone to pizza! Mom and Lily are looking forward to a fun trip to a local farm tomorrow, and according to Lily she plans to ride a pony...you'll have to wait until next week to find out whether it actually happens!

Knockin' Em Flyin'

Well approximately 8 weeks until "baby brother" makes an appearance and Lily is talking it up quite a bit. When we are in a store, she wants to buy things for her baby brother or points to things that her baby brother "needs" so we have had to curb her desire to throw everything she sees in the cart. She also has designated toys that she intends to share with her baby brother, and which toys are specifically hers. Today, she asked when her baby brother is "coming out" and said that she is going to hold his hand and that he is going to "be very nice." In other baby news, Lily is happy to report that in addition to a baby brother, she is also getting her very first cousin, courtesy of Aunt Tracy and Uncle Stan. Her cousin is due in April, and she can't wait to meet him/her!

On to the activities of the week...Lily had a good week at school and has moved into fall mode, coloring leaves and pumpkins - we are looking forward to a school trip to a farm next week!

On Friday, Lily had gymnastics which she enjoyed as always, and has already said she wants to sign up for the next session. Later in the day, Grandma Gail came over for a visit and dinner.

Saturday brought a lot of activity. We started out the day with her old school friend Gavin's birthday party at a duckpin bowling alley - by the end Lily was getting the hang of throwing (opposed to just dropping) the ball and watching as her ball knocked down some pins. Afterwards, we went to meet Lily's new friend Wyatt, son of friends Chris and Kristen - she said he is "very cute." We then headed home and shortly thereafter, Ms. Heather, her former teacher, showed up to babysit while Mom and Dad went to celebrate their anniversary. Lily didn't miss a beat reacquainting herself with Ms. Heather, and barely said goodbye to Mom and Dad. She had tons of fun showing Ms. Heather her swingset, all of her toys, and even finagled Ms. Heather into singing an array of songs (multiple times) before bedtime. After such a busy day, she had no problem falling asleep!

Sunday was spent hanging out at home playing with toys, playing outside, and watching the Redskins lose to the Packers. The weekend ended with a delish dinner of pasta with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice. See you next week!

Talkin' New York

"Let's go people!" - this was Lily's latest order when Mom, Dad and Lily were attempting to leave the house - just one of the many funny things she has been saying on a pretty regular basis.

We have returned from the big city of NYC where we had a very busy and fun time with local cousin Emilie, and Stephanie, Donna, Stephen, and Bubbie. Lily loved riding in the taxis and looking at all of the "really big towers." On Saturday, Lily visited a local playground, and then Mom and Dad went to dinner and a show, while Lily had some fun with the rest of the crew - she slept through dinner, but had tons of fun playing before and after dinner - yes it was a late night for Lily as she decided she needed to be up to greet Mom and Dad when they got back to the hotel. ;) On Sunday, Lily went on a horse/carriage ride in Central Park - she was fascinated by all of the horses and kept saying she wanted to ride one (we'll find out in a few weeks when we go to a farm with pony rides whether she is just a big talker :)) - and we also visited the polar bears, penguins, sea lions, and monkeys at the Central Park Zoo. Overall, Lily had a fabulous time and made it an early Monday night to recover from all of the activities, and to catch up on some sleep before school tomorrow.

Enjoy the pics, see you next week!

P.S. - Due to battery malfunction, not too many picture this week. Enjoy.

P.P.S. - Thanks to our imported and local babysitters for a great weekend.

Blood Bank

A beautiful weekend in the books. The weather heare was perfect and LIly had a good time playing outside on her new swingset and with all her outside toys. It was finally cool enough to chase about half the mosquitos away!

Friday kicked off the weekend with gymnastics. Saturday we had another unsuccessful foray into soccer. A quick dinner downtown and then a busy Sunday brunch with nanny share friends and dinner with Grandma Gail, Uncle Stan and Aunt Tracy.

Onto the pictures ... a weekend in the big apple awaits.
