Open Your Eyes

A long weekend spent with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom has come to an end, as Mom and Dad returned from a trip to Florida - congrats Tara and Ted on your wedding.

Wednesday night we trekked to GG>'s for the night as Mom and Dad had an early flight out. The fun began at about 8am Thursday morning (yes, of course she slept in for GG>) and went full force until Sunday night. Lily spent a lot of time playing in the backyard on the swings and with the 8 neighborhood kids (yes, all one family) who live behind G&G - as Lily describes it she was "playing with the kids." She also visited with Great Yellow Grandma on Saturday. Not too many pics as GG> were busy chasing Lily around.

She is doing well with the potty, talking in full sentences, while asserting her independence. She would prefer if she could do everything herself without any assistance - put on her clothes, brush her teeth, go to the potty, buckle herself into her car seat - i.e. "no Mommy, I do it." Tonight while Mom was watching Lily attempt to buckle herself into her carseat, Lily said "Turn around!" - oh the joys of having a 2 year old!!

In other news, we have a contract pending on a single family home, and as of right now, we plan to move at the end of June. Although we are very excited to move, we will be very sad to leave Lily's school, where she has been since she was 4 months - we are currently searching for a comparable replacement and expect Lily to adjust rather quickly - it may take Mom a little longer. Will keep you posted on the latest...enjoy the few pics we have!

Changes

Busy busy week. I am not really sure where to begin. LIly had a great week at school. Her language and potty skills continue to improve at a really impressive pace. Sentences are coming out where words used to stand by themselves and I can't remember the last time we changed a diaper in non-nap situation.

We had a busy weekend visiting with Grandma Phyllis, Grandpa Maurice and their new dog Kaci. On Friday we bought a new car, to replace the one that I destroyed by accident on my Monday night commute home - if you care to see pictures of the damage click here. I am fine - no injuries thanks to the three air bags. Lily was very patient while we finished the transaction to buy a new version of the same exact car.

On Saturday we continued our hunt for a new house and Lily spent some time with the grandparents. Sunday was more time with the grandparents as we went back to look at the house again and met with the realtor to make an offer. We should hear more in the coming days.

That is about it. Somehow we managed to take no new pictures this week but here are some from Grandpa's camera.

See you next week.

Save me

The week started out with Lily looking like she participated in a boxing match. In fact, as she explains to anyone who asks, Gavin ran into her eye with a truck. Fortunately, the truck landed below her eye, but it just spread to the rest of her eye. She applied a little ice and managed to make a quick recovery. We finished off the week of school with a wearing of big girl underwear. She is doing pretty well in that department with only a few accidents, and is only wearing a diaper/pull-up at night. She is extremely proud of her big girl underwear and to date prefers Dora, but at times requests Elmo or Curious George.

Friday, Lily and Mom trekked down to Richmond to see one of mom's college friends Erica and children Riley (5) and Reid (2 1/2). Lily had tons of fun riding bikes with Riley and Reid, and especially loved following Riley around - Riley even helped Lily use the potty and tie her shoes!

Saturday, we visited with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, and Aunt Tracy who is in town for a visit. As it was a nice day, Lil got in some tricycle riding and playground time. Sunday, Lily visited with Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice. She played some games and went on a walk, while Mom and Dad ran some errands.

Lily is feeling a little under the weather right now - probably too much action this weekend - but we are hoping for a quick recovery! See you next week!

Jungleland

Not much to report this week. Lily had a busy week at school and then a fun weekend with friends and lots of activity.

School is going well and Lily is learning a lot. New words every day and she really seems to have the potty thing down pat. Lot's of diaper trees saved!

This weekend Lily and her pal Hayley went to see "Diego Live" with Marcy and Michelle. They had a great time and were apparently transfixed the entire time. A good time was had by all.

Not much else to report and not too many pictures this week. Busy weekend ahead with Aunt Tracy in town and Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis finally back to northern climes. Many people to see and more pictures ahead.

Have a good week.
