Where The Monkey Meets The Man

Another eventful week in the books. Lily had a great week at school and has made much progress in the potty training and language department. She is very proud of herself on both fronts!

Friday Lily had fun swimming with her friend Hayley, and then had some pizza for lunch.

Lily is on her way to becoming a world traveler as she applied for her passport later on Friday - a necessity now to travel to Canada and she is also talking about an African safari in the near future. Needless to say she was not happy to get her picture taken for her passport, thus she has quite a scowl on her face. We tried to explain to her that she would be using the same picture for the next 5 or so years but she didn't light up until the lollipop appeared post-photo shoot.

Friday evening Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom came over for some play time and for dinner. Dad wasn't feeling well Saturday, so Mom, Lily and Gypsy decided to trek to see Grandma and Grandpa again. While Mom and Grandma went to the mall, Lily and Grandpa went to the playground and watched some local basketball - all of this without a nap! We then went to dinner - thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun time. Sunday was a pretty quiet day around the house - both Dad and Lily got in a nice long nap.

Lily and Dad are gearing up for a fun weekend with Mom going out of town on Thursday! Not sure what is on the weekend agenda, but we are sure it will be something fun.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures and the debut of Monkey Dance video!

Cold Water

So Lily survived her Saturday alone with Dad. It was a busy weekend with visits from Stuart's friend Jeff and then a trip to Hayley and Cole's house for dinner. I forgot the camera so no fun pictures of Lily and Hayley cavorting but they had a good time together. Lily then slept in until 8:15 on Sunday - Marcy was jealous! I think she only woke up because I went in to check on her.

Marcy returned on Sunday to finish up a fun weekend. There was play with new toys (Matchbox cars that Lil loves to roll around the floor and Thomas the Train). Marcy also painted Lil's nails for the first time and there were efforts to play in the pathetic snow storm that we endured (all three inches of it).

That is about all for this week. Enjoy the pictures.

On Saturday Lily saw Hayley's painted nails and wanted some of her own. Marcy was kind enough to oblige.

Do you want to play?

A good week at school, and a long holiday weekend has come to an end...

Despite it being mid-January, we had some pretty balmy weather so over the weekend we visited the playground and sandbox (neighborhood volleyball court), and improved on tricycle riding skills and kicking the ball.

Saturday Mom went to a baby shower while Dad held down the fort, and we later met up at Grandma Phyllis' and Grandpa Maurice's house where Lily showed off her xylophone and coloring skills (we forgot the camera so no pics).

Monday Lily had a get together with her classmate Emma and was not shy about diving into all of Emma's (and her sister Riley's) many toys, and big girl bed. Needless to say they were happy to get in some girl time, without all the crazy boys running around!

Enjoy the pics!

P.S. Lily wants to send a 'Get Well' shout out to her best canine pal Gypsy who currently has a bandaged leg due to a foot injury - we expect a fully recovery!

Dressing Up

A short week back but we are finally back in the swing of things. Lily had a good week of school but missed all the people she saw in Florida and missed getting presents every night. She is finally getting through all her toys from Chrismakah and is having a good time with all her new loot. We are definitely running out of space in the house for all her toys and books!

We had a quiet weekend at home and caught up on laundry and tidying up. On Saturday we ran some errands and Lil was a good sport going along.

Not much new to report other than tons of language development and much "mommy" clinging. Lily is talking more than ever and is quiet conversant - although we still don't understand quite everything she says. Also, all of a sudden Lily is going through a stage where she is quite clingy to Marcy. Mommy's absence (even being in a different room) can result in an outburst of tears. Marcy's upcoming trip to Las Vegas should make for an interesting weekend alone with Dad!

On to the pictures ... Lily really enjoyed her dress up clothes as you can see below.

The Girl From Ipanema

Lily is fast asleep as we had a busy travel day back from Florida. We started out the day early this morning with a viewing of Sesame Street, a trip to Bubbie's neighborhood park and then a bumpy flight home. We all had a great time this past week on vacation and fun spending time with Bubbie, Donna, Stephen, Emilie, Stephanie and Poppa Syd and Grandma Essie. Lily had lots of people to play with and spent some real quality time in the pool and at the beach. She is exhausted (as are we) but ready to go back to school (and work) tomorrow.

While in Florida, Lily really expanded her vocabulary and is talking up a storm. She is really learning to put words and strings of words together. I am sure paragraphs are just around the corner. Lily loved the warm weather and playing in the water. It was tough to pull her away for meals and naps!

We are back to our regular schedule of events now ... enjoy the pictures and video.
