Jump They Say

It is kind of quiet around here tonight - Marcy is in Atlanta for work and Lily is over at Grandpa Tom and Grandma Gail's for a couple of nights. Before everyone left we had a nice weekend. We did not have much to do so we relaxed and went to the pool to relax and hung around the house.

In other news, Lil has started jumping ... literally, she has learned to hop and is quite proud of herself when she does it. She has also learned the word "remote" so now she can request both her favorite programs and the remote. Somtimes the words that she learns seem to come out of nowehere.

Special Happy Birthday wishes this week go out to Cousin Emilie and Grandma Phyllis.

This Modern Love

Another week in the books, Lily had a full week at school due to Mom being a little under the weather. Fortunately, Mom recovered for a fun filled weekend...

Saturday, Lily visited with her friend Brendan (Happy 2nd Birthday!!), while the parents ate crabs. They had lots of fun playing with all of Brendan's toys, and as you will see below, ended the night with a good night kiss. Sunday, Dad ran a 5K, and Mom and Lily did the 1 mile fun run - well in our case, Mom walked and Lily strolled - Lily did run a portion of the route though. The run/walk ended on the Orioles' field so Lily got to hang out in the dugout, and stuffed herself with carbs with the rest of the runners.

Sunday ended with a trip to Annapolis for some time on a playground, and dinner at Rockfish. Have a good week!!

Help!

It was a hot one this week, so Lily spent a lot of time in the water to stay cool.

To combat the hot weather, the theme at school this week was the Artic - Lily made a penguin with her feet and sides of her hands, and also made a polar bear out of cotton balls.

Earlier in the week, Grandma Gail and Aunt Tracy came over for a vist and lunch - Aunt Tracy has since headed back to CO.

Thursday, Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom babysat while Mom and Dad went out to a crab feast - Lily had a good time!!

Friday Lily spent some time at the pool - she has definitely become a water baby.

On Saturday, while Mom went to a shower, Lily hung out with Dad, and then went over for a visit with Hayley and Cole. Mom caught up with the crew for a Mexican feast.

Sunday, we went to the pool again, and had some water fun with her classmate, Gavin. We capped off the weekend with a quick trip to the playground.

Post-lake, we had a relatively relaxing weekend at home...

On Thursday, Lily cheered Dad on to victory at his softball game, and at one point actually tried to run onto the field, and all the players yelled "Time-Out!" - just a bit embarassing. Friday, we visited the pool for the first time this summer - Lily did not want to leave. Saturday, Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis babysat while Mom and Dad played some golf. Sunday Lily got in some more pool time, watched the World Cup with Dad, and had a quick visit with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Tom. Monday back to school and back on schedule!!!

Independence Day

Happy Belated 4th of July!! Just returned from a week at the lake. We drove down late Thursday night, and returned Wednesday – fun was had by all. Lily visited with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Tom, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Stan, Aunt Kelly, Great Uncle Mike, Great Aunt Jeanne, Great Uncle Carlton, Great Aunt Jenny, cousins Alli, Davis, and Alex, neighbors Pat and Annie, and of course the dogs, Ivan and Frisco – yes, it was quite a crew. Gypsy hung out at home
with Grandpa Maurice, Grandma Phyllis, and aunt Lexie (the dog).

Beginning early Friday morning, Lily dove right in to lake activities. She insisted on driving the pontoon boat and ski boat with Grandpa Tom, she takes her duties very seriously as reflected in the pics. She spent some time riding the sea doo, playing in her pool, swimming in the lake, and playing on her swing. Fortunately, because of her many activities, she slept very well at night and took some long naps. She has become much more comfortable around water, and we suspect that next summer she will be begging to be put up on water skis.
