Buckets of Rain

It was a week for water here. Lily had her first week of water time at school and then it rained so much this weekend that we started to build an Ark. We tried to go to the Orioles game Saturday night but it poured mid way through and we only made it through about five innings.

On Sunday we ran some errands and avoided the storm clouds as much as possible.

Very little to report this week. Lil had a good week at school. Last week was the first week of the summer program so there was less of an academic focus ... okay well not really but there was a lot of water time.

We are gearing up for a big Fourth of July weekend at the Lake. Everyone is coming to town so there should be ample good video and pictures next update ... which may not be up until after we get back or it may be sooner ... we will have to see what our internet access is like there.

That is all for this week. Enjoy the pictures.

Travelin' Light

Lil had a good week at school .. her last week before the summer session started. For the kids her age, not much changes between regular session and camp but today did mark the start of water time -- every morning Lil will go to school with her water shoes and bathing suit on for some quality fun with her classmates and lots of water. Day 1 was a raging success, we will keep you updated as the summer goes along.

We spent this past weekend in New Jersey visiting Poppa Syd and Grandma Essie, Great Uncle Jon and Cousin Robin. Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis were visiting as well. Unfortunately, Great Aunt Paula and Cousin Jenna were away. On Saturday we went to an amazing park called Van Saun park that has a great playground, a carousel and zoo. On Saturday night we celebrated Poppa Syd's 94th Birthday and Father's Day. A good time was had by all. Lily was very well behaved despite her lack of naps ... she is following in her Dad's footsteps and copes well with less sleep.

Sunday we had a nice father's day breakfast at the hotel before heading back home. Lil made me a very cute hand print in clay that is now siting on my desk. On the way back from New Jersey we stopped in Delaware to visit our friends Stacey and John and their son Ian who is six months old. Then we came home and picked up Gypsy from the kennel - she was very happy to see everyone.

That is all for now. On to this week's pictures.

Have you fed the fish?

Another week in the books. Things are starting to get busy around here. Lily is very active and doing lots of art projects and reading lots of books. Her vocabulary is expanding every day and it seems like each day she is talking more and more in a language that we understand. She continues to eat like a champ and is so well behaved (knock on wood). And best of all it seems we have beat the pacy addiction - Lil continues to go to Pacy Anonymous meetings but I think she has it kicked.

The week started out with another bite from biter #2 - again on the hand but this one was a little more apparent, teeth marks and all. Fortunately, Lily recovered quickly after the incident, and the school is keeping an eye on the chomper.

Next week at school, Lily will start having some morning water fun through August. She goes to school in her bathing suit - easy dressing for Dad - and has a water activity every day to beat the heat. I'm sure we will have some good water stories to share and hopefully will get some pics.

On Wednesday we celebrated the arrival of two new siblings for one of Lily's classmates. Lily's buddy Gavin, who lives around the corner, now has a brother Garret and sister Genna. So on Wednesday we went to the bris and baby naming ceremony. Lil missed most of the action as she was playing around outside. It was strange to see such small babies again and to think that less than two years ago Lil was that small.

It was busy weekend around here with a visit from Lil's Great Aunt Donna and Great Bubbie. We headed to our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner on Friday night. Saturday we went to the Aquarium in the morning and Lily had a great time. We got there nice and early (since we are not allowed to sleep in anymore) and we had plenty of time to walk around without much of a crowd. Lily loved seeing all the fish and was very happy to be there. We came home for a nap and then off to dinner.

On Sunday we played around the house and at the playground. Then we were off to the airport to see Donna and Bubbie off.

Another busy weekend coming up as were are on our way to New Jersey to see Poppa Syd, Grandma Essie, Uncle Jon, Aunt Paula and Cousin Robyn (I don't think that Cousin Jenna will be in for the weekend).

That's all for now. Enjoy the fish ... I mean the pics.

Race Against Time

This past week at school, Lily and her classmates made frogs and ladybugs, and today she enjoyed painting on the easel. According to Ms. Sandy, Lily loves arts and crafts, and doesn't even mind getting her hands dirty now.

This weekend, Lily raced for a good cause, the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure in D.C. We met up with Lily's friend Brooke, and her parents, Kristen and Mark. The metro ride was a bit chaotic, and the thousands of people also added more chaos, so we were a bit late to the race but we had fun walking with the crowd. Afterwards, we had some breakfast, walked around the Mall a bit, and the girls rode the carousel. Upon returning home, Lily then took a three hour nap, and woke up refreshed for a little outside playing and dinner with Granpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis.

Sunday, Lily took a wagon ride up the street (yes, she now sits down) and had a play date with Gavin (her classmate), and met his new siblings, twins Garrett and Genna who were born on Wednesday. This Wednesday, Lily will attend her first bris and baby naming, she plans to assist the mohel...

Lily wants to send out special birthday wishes to her Aunt Kelly - Happy Birthday!!

Enjoy the pics!!
