Lake of Fire

This week Lily cheered Dad on at his softball game, and got in a little playground time.

The long holiday weekend was spent at the lake, we had perfect weather!! The water was a little cold for Lily but she did ride in the golf cart, the paddle boat and sea doo with a little grand/parental supervision. We also got in some pontooning. After a busy day on Saturday, Lily slept in until 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, much to our surprise and delight - we believe that may be a new record in Lily land!

Enjoy the pics!!

What A Party

The week started out with carnivorous excitement once again as Lily was once more the victim of a toddle by bite. Fortunately, this time the jaws only got her finger but we are starting to wonder if the boys in her class are partaking in some strange hazing ritual where they all have to take a bite of Lily. This time Lily was apparently reading a book and minding her own business when one of her classmates came up to her and wanted the same book. Now Lily is more than willing to share but she was just getting to the end of a good story and suggested that her classmate wait until she got to the end. Apparently he was not satisfied with the suggestion and grabbed the book away. Lil took it back and then her (former) friend took a bite. We do not know who was responsible for this one and no one has looked particularly guilty since!

The rest of the school week was normal. Lil was off on Thursday as we had Marcy's cousin Valerie's wedding. The whole fam was in town and Lily had a good time dancing and eating her way through the wedding (Cousin Valerie was nice enough to invite her). Friday and Saturday were more family time as we celebrated Grandma Gail's birthday and Mother's Day since Tracy, Stan and Kelly were in town for the weekend.

Sunday was some errands and a play date for dinner with Hayley and Cole. That's about it. We are all back to normal programming today.

Ooops, almost forgot to mention a new milestone this week as Lil got her first skinned knee.

That is all for now. Enjoy the pictures.

Boogie Shoes

Well it has been over a week since we put into place 'Operation No Pacy.' Bedtime is going really well, she appears to have adjusted, and her new routine is hugging her blanket and baby before going to sleep. Naptime is a different story - she naps great at school but napping at home has been a bit more problematic - sometimes she naps well and other times she will scream/yell/talk for anywhere from a few minutes to close to an hour before she finally gives up - Saturday it was pretty close to an hour before she finally went to sleep. But overall, 'Op No Pacy' is going well.

This past week, Lily worked on her 'double super secret' Mother's Day present, and gave it to Mom on Friday. As reflected in the pics below, one of Lily's shoes was bronzed (painted) in gold and presented in a beautiful bed of flowers!!

Saturday we had dinner with Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis, and got in a little pre-dinner swing time on the playground in their backyard.

Sunday, prior to breakfast at the local diner, Lily presented Mom with a Mother's Day present of a collage style picture frame, and Mom even managed to have pictures printed, and the frame is already hanging in the house - very impressive on Mom's part, especially based on the fact that Mom has yet to create an album for Lily, much less a wedding album...

Lily has another top tooth that has come in and it looks like another one is ready to break through. She is very responsive now to "Hi" and "Bye" and likes to disperse kisses on the lips or cheeks, and also likes to blow kisses. She also likes to clap her hands and stomp her feet while listening to Raffi, Jack's Big Music Show, or when Great Auntie Donna breaks into song on the telephone...

Enjoy the pics!!

Rowboat

What a busy week we had around here. Lily had a great week at school. She is growing in leaps and bounds, starting to talk more and more, reading to herself (see video proof below) and has gotten even more entertaining and fun to be around.

The highlight of the week had to be her 20 month checkup on Friday. Lily now weighs 27 lbs., 5 oz. and is 33 1/4 inches tall - almost three (or "tree" if she says it) feet tall. That puts her in the 80th and 60th percentiles respectively. The rest of the check up was not as much fun as she proceeded to scream the whole time - no shots, she just did not want to be there. In her defense, we did interrupt her nap to bring her. With this appointment came the doctor's suggestion that we end the age of the pacy. So, since Friday afternoon, Lily has gone cold turkey - so far so good. Nights have not been a problem but naps have been a bit of a battle. If it is possible to be proud of her for a decision she did not make, we are - she is coping well without her security blanket.

Over the weekend we played at the playground and drew many pictures on the cement with chalk and rode around in her car. On Sunday we did the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Walk (or ride in Lil's case) and got some great fresh air. Lily has walking/riding buddies Hayley and Cole.

That is all for now. We just got home from Marcy's birthday celebration -- the big __ - well, not my place to tell. Regardless, Happy Birthday Marcy -- you don't look a day over 33 :). It was Grandma Gail's birthday yesterday so a special Happy Birthday wish to her as well.

Have a good week everyone. Enjoy the pics and video.

Playin' With My Friends

Busy week at school, and busy week at home, especially outside as we had some nice Spring weather! Lily got lots of slide time this week, on the playground at school and at the neighborhood playground in the late afternoon/evening hours and on Friday. She is getting very confident climbing up the playground, walking across the bridge (no hands), and going fast down the slide - it is becoming very difficult to pry her off the playground as she could play for hours on end. This weekend we will hopefully make a visit to the bigger playground up the street!!

At school, she was very busy playing with her friends, and she had her class picture on Friday - we should get the pic soon and will scan it for viewing.

Saturday, we did some early morning errands, including a trip to Kid Footlocker to get her some new kicks - yes, we had a little problem with the Stride Rite shoes we bought the week before, so we decided to go with New Balance. Saturday afternoon Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis came over for a little playground time, and then we went for dinner in Annapolis - Lily was on her best behavior!!

Sunday, we had some friends over for a BBQ - Karen, TJ, Elizabeth, and Mary-Lee, which included some playmates for Lily - Brendan (22 months), Nicholas (2 1/2), and Alexander (8 weeks) - and they had fun carousing on the playground and playing with every single toy that Lily owns!! Alexander loved the slide!! ;) Just kidding, he had a nice view from the stroller. After her afternoon playdate, Lily was definitely ready for bedtime.

Enjoy the pics!!
