Standin' Still

Not much news to report this week. Lil is improving her balance considerably and has had moments where she has stood up by herself and stayed upright without holding on to anything. She is definitely cruising now -- walking around furniture while holding on. Walking seems to be right around the corner. On the teeth front, a fourth one is breaking through right now. That is all for developmental milestones for the week.

In other news, at Lil's suggestion we joined the community pool and now she has a real pool to hang out in. She went this weekend and had a great time. On Saturday we went to Lily's friend Bredan's birthday party and she had lots of fun playing with a new group of kids. She especially had fun playing in the ball pit.

That is all for now. Video will return next week. Enjoy the pictures.

Eat for Two

So another exciting week in Lily-land. Much progress has been made in the growth and eating department - new teeth (two new ones are popping through, still no front top teeth), faster crawling, more standing up, more food (including fun stuff like blueberries and spaghetti (although not together)).

In addition to all these milestones (Lil climbed her first stair tonight), we had special visitors in the middle of last week. Lily's Great Uncle Simon and Aunty Ruby came to town for a visit. They brought her a pink bear that is fast becoming a favorite and Lily had a really great time hanging out with more relatives from the North of the Border. We had a very nice dinner with Simon and Ruby and Grandpa Maurice and Grandma Phyllis. We all appreciated how far Simon and Ruby came to visit and we promised to reciprocate as soon as possible.

On Sunday we had a nice brunch with our friends Connie and Matt and their daughter Olivia and Robert and Barbara and their daughters Sophia and Paige. A good time was had by all once we got the waffle iron issues ironed out and we had a nice brunch of waffles and omelets. Lily had a good time making new friends.

That is all for now. Until next week, enjoy the pictures.

Working with some spaghetti, a new treat.

Ahhh, the spaghetti monster.

What a mess.

Summer Babe

Upon return from the lake, it was a pretty uneventful week and weekend, therefore, we were pretty lazy with the camera but we got a couple cute pics.

Lily returned to school on Wednesday and her teachers reported that she quickly reestablished herself as "Queen" of the classroom, and showing everyone the ropes.

Lily continues her crawling and is lifting herself up on the furniture on a more regular basis. She is also becoming quite the troublemaker and while we believe that she has learned the word "No," she likes to ignore the word while smiling. She has discovered Gypsy's water bowl and on Friday dumped it all over the floor and ended up soaking herself.

On Friday, we had a crab feast with our neighbors Dorinda and Dave, and Lily had her first experience with Maryland blue crabs which her dad was craving, and she got to play with a couple of the claws - just kidding. On Saturday night, we celebrated Grandpa Maurice's birthday and Lily was able to show off her musical talent on her new piano. On Sunday, we attempted pool time, however, the scorching weather forced us indoors. We finished off the weekend with an impromptu pizza party with our friends John and Michelle and their kids, Hayley and Cole. (They have been previously feature on the blog.)

Lily wants to send a shout out to her Uncle Stephen and Aunt Donna to have a good trip to England!!

We will have better pictures next week.

Just a little snack after a mid-day swim...

"Yep, I got up all by myself...now what do I do?"

"I LOVE formula!!!"

Our own little virtuoso...she takes requests!

The Code of the Handsome Lake

Short week at home, nice long weekend at the Lake. We got a chance to relax at the lake and hang out with Marcy's family. It seemed like everyone had a good time doing lake things and enjoying the Fourth.

In growth news, Lily continues to chow down. She is eating turkey and cheese and nutri-grain bars and baby food and bottle and the old standard, veggie puffs. Her third tooth has officially broken through. She has become pro at pulling herself up and occasionally tries to take a step forward. Things appear to be moving in the right direction.

Back to work and school for a short week. No time to look through the weekend video now but check back later in the week perhaps we will have some blog-worthy clips.
