Hotel Illness

Not sure if it is reflected, but Mom/Marcy is on blog duty this week because Dad/Stuart is miserably sick....

The beginning of the week things were great!! Lily got a helmet for her bike trailer and we had big plans to put together the trailer and take it for a whirl on mom's new bike, however, the fun was interrupted...

On Wednesday, I got a call at work that Lily had a 100.7 fever so I had to go pick her up. She did in fact have a fever and was exhausted and went right to bed. She was too sick on Thursday to go to school so Grandma Gail came to babysit. The fun began when Stuart came home from work early on Thursday, not feeling well. So essentially beginning Thursday evening to the present, I have been attempting to nurse both Lily and Stuart back to health. Let's just say that both of my patients have been very stubborn. Lily hates getting her nose wiped and has been waking up several times during the night and refuses to go back to sleep unless she is sleeping with mom. Lily's dad is even more stubborn...even though he feels terrible, he refused to go to the dr or go to bed early. Lily was feeling a little better today although she was very fussy this morning so she stayed home with mom today. Stuart still feels miserable!! Fortunately, by some sort of miracle, I managed to avoid the bug that bit the other two...

Despite her illness, Lily does have a few new tricks up her sleeve. She now waves her arm in the air and tries to clap. She also knows how to put her pacifier back in her mouth herself although sometimes sideways or upside down. Enjoy the few pics we managed to get this weekend!! Hoping we will have a healthy report next week!!

Ummmm mom...what is that green thing starting up at me??!!

Chillin' on mom...

Hangin' in my exersaucer with a runny nose...

That nap really gave me some energy!!!

Still playing...

Green, Green Grass of Home

So spring is in full swing here and Lil is getting out an about. It was a busy week of daycare, seeing friends, playing with cousins, celebrating birthdays and seeing grandparents.

Everything here is going well. Lily continues to eat, sleep and grow well. We are all enjoying the good weather and looking forward to a nice warm summer.

Not much news to report so on to the photos ... see ya next week.

Lil having lunch with her friend Brendan.

Trying to crawl on Marcy ...

The obligatory exersaucer picture. Check out how dirty a shirt can get in one morning of drool, formula, rice cereal and baby food.

Lily went to Grandpa Tom and Grandma Gail's last Thursday for Grandpa Tom's Birthday. Here she is in some pre-dinner swinging.

Getting a good push.

At the dinner table.

Uncle Stan taunting Lily with some dinner.

Here is Lily with the birthday Grandpa.

On Friday, Lily's cousin Sara came for a visit. She was in town from Louisville.

Hanging around playing with blocks and fish.

Eating.

Lily really enjoys her food to the fullest.

Sping is now in full swing and Lily got to play in the grass.

Trying some non-baby food banana. The next picture, which we are missing, is of the banana on the sofa.

Trying fruit puffs -- kind of like cereal but soft enough to be gummed down. At first they were a hit ...

Then she began feeding them to Gypsy. Can we say it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

On Saturday we went to Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Maurice's house for dinner. Here is Lil hanging out with Gramps ...

Flowers at My Feet

The weather seems to have broken here and sping seems to have arrived. The warm weather has given Lil a chance to get outside and smell the spring flowers. She has been having nightly walks/strolls with Marcy and Gypsy and the whole school gang gets into the triple stroller for walks around the pond behind day care. She seems non-plussed by the warm weather and she falls asleep in her stroller just as easily now as she did in the winter. Hopefully we can get to the big city to see the cherry blossoms before they disappear this year.

Not much news to report. Lily's teeth are still being stubborn and hiding out and she is not yet mobile. On the plus side, or maybe that is the plus side, she continues to eat and drink well and she is still sleeping on a pretty regular schedule. Daylight savings time played a bit of havoc with the sleep schedule last week but she seems to be back in the rhythm of things.

Anyway, obligatory pictures of the baby follow. Until next week.

We saw our friends Rob and Randi over the weekend and here is Lily hanging out with their daughter Samantha.

Sam is a big fan of babies and had a good time feeding Lily. Lil was a sport as it was not the easiest bottle she was ever fed.

Snoozing on the sofa. A common theme of blog entries.

Playing with her favorite fish bowl. Grover with a watchful eye in the background.

"Watch out fishies, I am coming for you."

"Guys, enough with the camera already. I am trying to play here."

Lil's new bottle eating technique. Unorthodox but surprisingly effective. Posted by Hello

Happy Face

Another fun week in the books. Lily is eating and growing like a weed. She is now eating four bottles, a jar of fruit, a jar of veggies and and a bowl of rice cereal. She is getting heavy to carry around. She is also sleeping great -- 12 hours last night. Hey when your kid isn't on the honor roll you have to brag about the simple things. Oh, and you should see her dirty diapers ... she is a pro at digesting her food.

Marcy and I went out last night to see a reading by David Sedaris and Lil stayed with a baby sitter for the first time. Gypsy and our neighbor Dorinda were kind enough to watch Lil for us. Lily was apparently a good girl and managed to fall asleep while sitting up and playing. That is a first. Hopefully she will repeat so that we can get some photos.

Here are some pics for the week. See ya next week.

Lily is very happy to be going to school.

So excited.

Snoozing on the sofa after a long day.

Hanging around Aunt Tracy sucking her thumb.

Hanging with Grandma Gail and looking very mischievous.

Hanging upside down with Grandpa Tom.

Standing on my own.

Standing and playing with my block.

Tastes like yellow.

Grover and Lily playing in the exersaucer. It can get crowded in there.

Looking very pensive. She then started babbling math formulas calculating the volume of the sphere.

Just posing with her pal the TiVo remote.

Lily and Gypsy. Lily really likes Gypsy but Gypsy really can't figure out Lil just yet. Posted by Hello
